Extremely faint line on LFT.

This is a family member’s LFT. He said “oh it’s negatice” but years of expert line eyes squinting at pregnancy tests mean I can see a line. I’ve suggested he do another LFT and then get a PCR but curious whether anyone else thinks this is a “proper” positive test!

Sorry that sounds aggressive when I didn’t mean it to be. If you are confident you have a faint line, you don’t need anyone else’s opinion. Book a pcr.

Mine was the same!
Treated it as a negative, was very very faint and had to look very hard to see it.

Because he can’t see it and I wondered what other people do when there is a line that’s so incredibly faint. I was just curious. I realise mumsnet isn’t going to give me all the answers but it’s a good place to get a general view of what people think / are doing.

I can see a line in the second pic, it is exactly how DH’s was - he was positive (double jabbed).
Same for me.

Negatives are completely, utterly and totally clear. Not a hint of a shadow or line. I'm a LFT for schools.

If there is a hint of a line, book a PCR.

If you see a line, just do a pcr. The results come back so quick now.

I'm not sure if we messed up with this a few weeks ago . Dp's workplace requested they all start doing them a month or so ago - which is fine. Dp had never done a pcr or a lft at this point (very fortunate so far). He did the test and took a pic of it to show me it was negative (there was a few cases at his work at the time). I didn't look closely at the pic on my messages or anything and by the time I got home it was in the bin. Anyway, thought nothing more of it! A few days ago I was scrolling through the photos/videos we've shared between each other on messenger and I came across the pic of the lft test, zoomed in and I'm sure I can see a very faint line on his very first test. I couldn't believe it. I don't think Dp did it purposely at all. I'm sure his eye sight is terrible - he hasn't had an eye test in years either. Too late to fo anything either. He didn't have symptoms nor do we think any of us have had covid. Who knows! I've told him to make sure he looks closer. His workplace has had no further cases since that point thank god!

Well he did another LFT and even he can see the line this time. He is booking a PCR as I type!

What a pain!

Hope it’s a quick result and he only has a mild course of covidz

Yeah, my friend’s looked just like that and it was followed up with a positive PCR.

Those types of tests show up very faint. Make him get a PCR. I had one that faint, retested with a different lateral flow type and it was a glaring positive confirmed by PCR

These are my tests, first was at 19.00, second at 01.00 then the third 11.00 the next day. The pcr was pos.

I had one that looked like that. Did another one with the same result. Had a PCR to be on the safe side. Came back negative.

I can't see a line on the first photo but can on the 2nd, any line at all no matter how faint it's positive, I'd just book a PCR to know either way. My line was very very faint my daughters was very heavy and appeared in minutes, both of us were positive.

I would say that's positive, you can see the line did you re test or get a PCR?

Faint line is positive and its says this on the instructions.

Still awaiting PCR tests but small update is that my own lateral flow and DC was clearly negative.

I saw the negative line in the first pic. Exact same thing here today on 9.30am test. I have never even had a hint of a line before. Did a test at 12 as was second guessing and that has no second line at all not even a hint 🤷🏻‍♀️
