Extremely faint line on LFT.

This is a family member’s LFT. He said “oh it’s negatice” but years of expert line eyes squinting at pregnancy tests mean I can see a line. I’ve suggested he do another LFT and then get a PCR but curious whether anyone else thinks this is a “proper” positive test!

Sorry I can’t see anything. I would say that was negative

FlatStanletta · 08/09/2021 11:20

Took another pic indoors and fiddled with the contrast to make it clearer

I can't see any line on the T section, he can always do another one, but I think you are seeing things where none exists.

PurpleDaisies · 08/09/2021 11:22

If you think there’s a line, just get them to do a PCR. There’s no need for another LFT first.

PurpleDaisies · 08/09/2021 11:22

I can see a line on the second picture. I never see lines.

PersonaNonGarter · 08/09/2021 11:23

Do a pcr test. I can see the line.

Also LFT rely on reasonably high viral
load so loads are giving false negatives.

BlackeyedSusan · 08/09/2021 11:24

I see a line.

Bollindger · 08/09/2021 11:24

That is a negative, sat waiting for jab, Doctor said so.

I can see a line on this second picture, but if I mess with the contrast on an unused test enough I can see a line as well.
GnomeyGnome · 08/09/2021 11:27

Did this line come up within the 30 minutes?

FlatStanletta · 08/09/2021 11:27

Oh interesting that a doc thinks it’s negative! He is going to do another LFT as he can’t see anything on the test (I admit it is a squinter but as per the second pic, there is definitely something there albeit very faint). I think he should do a PCR to be on the safe side!

Honest I am sat here just had jab, no one else here, 1 Doctor 3 Nurses.
All bored, all looking.
That is a negative.

FlatStanletta · 08/09/2021 11:28

Yes came up within the timeframe! Both pics taken at the time.

My daughter's looked like that, followed by positive PCR.
My first test looked like that a few days later, took another the next day and line was bright pink.
I say positive.

FlatStanletta · 08/09/2021 11:30

I told him that if it was a pregnancy test I would be advising him to get a FRER because a line within the time, is a line!

Hence why I think PCR is prob a good idea!

Ignore that poster claiming doctors and nurses are saying that’s negative. The second picture has a line. Any sort of line, no matter how faint is a positive.

maxineputyourredshoeson · 08/09/2021 11:33

I can see a line in the second pic, it is exactly how DH’s was - he was positive (double jabbed).

brightorbleakfuture · 08/09/2021 11:36

Mine was the same as that and followed by a positive PCR

Bollindger · 08/09/2021 11:37

It will be interesting to see what the other test says, as the Medical staff here are saying they wouldn't have retested.

I do wondered how many got a test and retested only to find they were Ok.

I can see the line on the second photo but not on the first. If you have to take a photo and then fiddle with the contrast to be able to see the line, it's a ridiculously faint line that the vast majority of people won't be able to see by just looking at the test. And the vast majority of people aren't going to take a photo and fiddle with the contrast just in case it reveals a line. They will just take a close look at the test itself, see no line, not even a faint one, and assume it's negative.
Thewiseoneincognito · 08/09/2021 11:39

That’s a line OP, get a PCR.

I can see the "weaker bands" in all of the photos in that document, and if I saw them in real life would read it as positive. I can see nothing in the first photo posted by the OP and would read it as negative.

FlatStanletta · 08/09/2021 11:49

Yeah that top photo is really crap. Sorry! In real life I can see the line with my naked eye but it’s just very very faint.
