What were your symptoms (if any)?

How ill did you become (if at all)?

How many vaccinations have you had(if
any)?

Purely out of interest

Achy all over, temperature of 39.3, headache, vomiting, loss of taste and smell and got to the point I couldn't move from the sofa.

Ended up in hospital for 10 nights, covid pneumonia, very unwell, given dexamethasone, remdisivir, tocilizumab amongst other drugs, put on CPAP machine.

Double jabbed

Bubbublish · 06/09/2021 18:32

Oxygen on admission was 86%

sleepfortheweek · 06/09/2021 18:32

Follow up question - do you have underlying health conditions?

OP posts:
Tiddleandplonk · 06/09/2021 18:38

Have it. No cough. No temp.
Very intense headache. Aching limbs. Weepy. Feel sick .

Bubbublish · 06/09/2021 18:43

No underlying health conditions, don't drink or smoke, a bit overweight. I was very unlucky!

EnolaAlone · 06/09/2021 18:50

I've just had it. Started with a headache, then a bad cold. I had a sore throat and temperature for a night. I had two days off work, in bed sleeping. After that I was mainly fine, just felt really tired and lost my taste and smell, but that's starting to come back now, nearly two weeks on.

I'm double vaccinated, my 2nd vaccine was in June. No underlying health conditions. I'm fairly fit but slightly overweight, BMI 26.

Mazig · 06/09/2021 19:05

Started with feeling exhausted. Then sneezing/cold symptoms. That turned into a high temp and all over aching overnight, felt like the general unwellness of tonsillitis but with no sore throat and painful sinuses. Then cough and loss of sense of smell. On and off headache. It’s lasted about 10-12 days so far, feel a bit better today but still so exhausted. I’m double vaccinated, 40s, generally healthy and no underlying conditions.

Phlaps · 06/09/2021 19:09

Started with a cold, three or four days in bed with flu like symptoms, no taste or smell, now just aching and everything is exhausting nearly two weeks later. Horrible. Mid forties and was very fit before this, now need a sit down after climbing the stairs, headache after trying to concentrate on anything for more than ten minutes.

moregarlic · 06/09/2021 19:14

I had it a few weeks back. Worse than a cold, maybe on par with the flu. I had a temp, muscle aches and restless legs. Temporary loss of taste and smell was depressing! I was pretty exhausted for a week. Overall not too bad and managed at home with paracetamol and ibuprofen.

No underlying health conditions. No vaccine.

Frolicinameadow · 06/09/2021 19:19

Really heavy cold symptoms, generally feeling achy and listless.
Headache
Sore throat
Cough
No appetite

I’m double jabbed and a few weeks on still have a cough and regular breathlessness.

Elliemayclampett · 06/09/2021 19:21

Worst headache I've ever had - all at the front. Aching ribs, cough, vomiting on day 4. Loss of sense of smell.

thelastgoldeneagle · 06/09/2021 19:23

Op, bear in mind that this thread may attract people who had Covid badly, not those who were asymptomatic or who had mild Covid...

Brollypackedforscottishholiday · 06/09/2021 19:25

Double vaccinated.
2 days after I turned 50.
'dormant' asthma.
Felt rubbish for 5 days. Napped on the middle day only!!
Sneezing was the worst symptom!!

idontlikealdi · 06/09/2021 19:26

Double vaccinated, 2nd was 12 weeks before I tested positive.

Runny nose for a couple of days, lost taste and smell for three weeks.

LeoTimmyandVi · 06/09/2021 19:48

I have covid at the moment. Wouldn’t have tested but was required to have a negative PCR by work (healthcare) as been a close contact with positive case.

Dull headache if I think about it, sore ish throat, sneezing and loss of taste and smell. On day 3 now. In normal times I would have taken paracetamol and carried on. Double jabbed, 42 and overweight!

Nojobforoldmums · 06/09/2021 19:53

Single vaccinated. Complete loss of sense of smell. A bit breathless and tired. Headaches but resolved with paracetamol. Have had far worse illnesses.

SerenadeOfTheSchoolRun · 06/09/2021 19:57

Double jabbed back in early June. Early 40s, female and quite overweight.

I haven’t been too bad. Had it for about a week now, only tested as a contact. Symptoms- tiredness was the one that affected me most and I have been sleeping in the afternoons, coughing a bit, sneezing occasionally, slightly sore throat on and off, slightly runny nose sometimes, a short period of earache and headache. Loss of smell was the last symptom when I started to feel better. Hope it doesn’t last too long.

SerenadeOfTheSchoolRun · 06/09/2021 19:59

Oh and a bit breathless when I go upstairs. No one in the family has caught it (yet) DH also double jabbed. One child had it in the past, one is single jabbed and one no jabs nor known infection.

Racingadmin · 06/09/2021 19:59

Double vaxxed , fit and healthy, work out 6 days a week

Currently on day 8 of symptoms

Last Monday started off feeling really tired and nauseous like a hangover . Did my twice weekly lft and negative .

Burst into tears at work after a tricky customer (never ever done this before,)no dinner and went to bed early

Pcr Tuesday on advice of Zoe app - Dh has to drive me to test centre as so tired and joints so painful that to wasn't safe to drive.

Since then really tired, constant headache , sore joints and throat
Head cold type symptoms on days 6 amd 7

Today I feel fine - tired but no other symptoms

I've done daily lft (2 types) and all have been negative. At no point did I have a cough , temperature or loss of taste/ smell.

HermioneWeasley · 06/09/2021 20:00

Fully vaccinated

Felt like a cold - at its worst it felt like a bad cold - snotty nose, fatigue,

Waxonwaxoff0 · 06/09/2021 20:03

Symptoms - sneezing, blocked nose, phlegmy cough. 2 days of high temperature. Complete loss of smell and taste.

I wasn't that ill, felt rough like a cold but was able to get up, shower, cook, tidy up etc every day.

1 vaccination. Had to miss my second due to testing positive but have re booked it.

sleepfortheweek · 06/09/2021 20:30

Thank you so much for those that have replied and I hope you all make a full recovery.

It's interesting that one of the main symptoms that most seem to be experiencing are similar to the cold (runny/blocked nose, sneezing, sore throat, headaches etc) and yet these aren't symptoms we are told to look out for.

I asked because I had heard that the delay variant causes more cold like symptoms, and yet the government haven't changed their 3 main symptoms to look out for (continuous cough/fever/loss and/or change in taste and smell) to include these.

Double vax. 40s, slim, fit, no known conditions

Days 1-10 started with sore throat, fatigue, aches…not much bother.
Went back to work day 11, day 12 last Monday evening suddenly felt symptoms re-emerge but much stronger (throat very sore, crushing fatigue and awful burning lungs). Spent two days zonked out in bed and didn’t feel able to emerge from the house until Friday.
Today I feel okay walking about but some tasks are causing breathlessness and muscle fatigue eg washing my hair and - strangely - writing

GoldFrankensteinAndGrrr · 06/09/2021 20:35

Me - obese (size 18/20), rheumatoid arthritis, steroid medication, CV. Double jabbed with AZ. Symptoms - bouts of sneezing several times a day, migraine (but I have allergies which make me sneeze and get migraines regularly so there's no guarantee these actually were symptoms). Also felt a bit more tired than usual but my RA does that sometimes, too. No cough, temperature, loss of taste/smell or anything. Symptoms (if that's what they were) over in a few days.

DH - healthy weight, no health issues, double jabbed with Pfizer. Completely asymptomatic. Not even a hint he had it other than a positive test!
