What were your symptoms (if any)?

How ill did you become (if at all)?

How many vaccinations have you had(if
any)?

Purely out of interest

No vaccinations
28 weeks pregnant
No taste or smell still none now a month one
Pretty breathless but partly due to heavily pregnant, runny nose one minute, blocked the next , very sore throat and so fatigued

dogwog · 08/09/2021 11:58

I am in my early 60s. Not jabbed, no underlying health issues. Had covid a couple of months ago. Felt achey, headache and rather tired for 10 days. Chesty cough after 6 days. Now totally recovered. My older teens got it. 3/5 days bit rough. All totally recovered.
Would not touch the vaccine with a bargepole.

Second time having covid. No actual agreed covid symptoms, I felt a little under the weather and a bit tired.

I am double vaccinated and found I was covid positive for the second time as I had a positive LFT then a positive PCR. Was taking regular LFT's for nursing placement.

Phlaps · 08/09/2021 18:55

@SpnBaby1967

Extremely sore throat Tired Still able to wfh Temp of 38 for about 2 hours No vaccinations

Honestly, I've had worse colds and when I did have my vaccine my side effects were horrific. I had a 40C temp, couldn't stop shaking, felt sick, headache etc. Couldn't move my head off the pillow.

Erm... am I missing something here? Have you been vaccinated or not?
Payproblems · 08/09/2021 22:00

It's helping me as I suddenly have covid in my house!..

I was weepy on Tuesday, and my eyes have been watery.

ScatteredMama82 · 09/09/2021 08:45

Following with interest! I’m double jabbed. Noticed yesterday I couldn’t smell or taste, did LFT and it’s positive. Awaiting PCR result now. Looking back I’ve been tired and nauseous since Saturday but period is due and I thought it was that. Started feeling more sick yesterday. Main symptom so far though is anosmia and fatigue.

blameitonthecaffeine · 09/09/2021 09:38

Only a very slight sniffle for me. Wouldn't have thought twice about if if I didn't get a positive LFT - on day 3 so had already been out with it 😬

It's so sneaky and varied. I'm not sick in slightest but could still have given it to so many others. Feel so guilty.

Double jabbed.

blameitonthecaffeine · 09/09/2021 09:40

Sorry, that sounded like I am on day 3 now. I'm on day 7 and still no other symptoms and sniffle is barely there now - just for an hour or so in the mornings. Otherwise 100% fit.

Rest of the family negative.

gildalily · 09/09/2021 10:38

54, type 2 diabetic, overweight, double jabbed with AZ
3 clear LFT tests then positive PCR (taken because of a slight unusual cough). Felt ok the first couple of days and thought I'd sail it. Continued working from home.
Over the weekend felt dire. Temperature never lower than 38.5 between days 3-8. On one occasion my temp was 40. No taste or smell. No headache. Slightly runny nose and cough periodically.
Taste and smell started to return yesterday (day 8) and today I have just had a Normal temperature for the first time. I have also had a negative LFT today when up to yesterday they were still showing positive.
Out of isolation on Saturday I hope.

TinyTroubleMaker · 10/09/2021 16:43

I have the strong sense the Virus has been going through testing each of my body systems for weaknesses. So gastro, neuro, it got to lungs later. I can well believe its something created in a lab.

Should say I'm lying still and quiet, resting almost constantly but still easily tired. I think I'd be a lot worse if I talked much or tried to exert myself in any way. The rest has been so important. And drinking so many pints of water.

IWishTheBishopWell · 10/09/2021 17:09

Caught Covid almost 6 weeks ago, double jabbed. I have asthma, psoriatic arthritis and ehlers danlos, amongst other conditions. DH who is fit and healthy and same age as me (early 30s), also double jabbed didn't catch it. We didn't isolate from each other (lack of space).

Initially it felt like a bad cold - headache, snuffly nose, sneezing and sinus pain, feeling achy and run down and fatigued etc. Loss of smell and cough came towards the end of my isolation period. So did a secondary chest infection and a UTI and kidney infection.

I was able to monitor my peak flow (which was surprisingly better than normal), my blood pressure, oxygen and temp at home. They all remained fine and I didn't need hospital.

Still off sick though, I have a lot of fatigue still, still coughing and feel generally run down, with chills, feeling light headed, vertigo etc.. I am generally prone to chest infections and coughs after illness and slow recovery but I usually shift things in a week or two!

I was referred to the Covid monitoring team who supported me at home due to my underlying conditions. They said people with autoimmune inflammatory arthritis and/or EDS were taking longer to recover in their experience.

They also said that the official advice to test for a cough, temp or loss of smell/taste needed updating as so many people don't have those with Delta or only develop them later. My cough started in the second week as did loss of smell. I never had a temperature.

@WeirdArchitecture

im certain a proliferation of bored doom-mongers hover around threads such as this like preying vultures.

This is not to diminish the experiences many have suffered, but these threads certainly do skew a bit extreme.

In real life, barely anyone I know who has tested positive after the vaccinations have had much more than a head cold. Funny how only one type of extreme seems to turn up here - possibly a support group for nanny and John Grin

People die and suffer with this illness, yes, but I don't think these questions actually help anyone. full stop.

I understand what you're saying, but this thread has helped me. I feel awful 6 days in (and I'm double vaccinated) and I've drawn reassurance from the experience of others.

My experience:
Day 1: fever
Day 2: fever then down to high temp, ached all over, loss of taste / smell, sneezing, burning left cheek
Day 3: painful face, mild headache, aching all over - especially stabbing pains mid thigh, sneezing, fatigue
Day 4-6 - painful face, runny nose, dizziness, fatigue

Plus total inability to concentrate for more than 10-15 mins on any day, which makes all the box set suggestions moot Sad

Pantsomime · 23/09/2021 15:16

It’s helping me too had positive lft with headache, stuffed nose, sneezing, v tired, bit dizzy and I’m worried about what could come, thank you for sharing

TerribleZebra · 23/09/2021 18:22

Day 5 for me. Headache on and off and can't smell anything. Tired but not horrifically. No temperature at all. I've worked all week (from home obvs). No cough at all thank god. Double vaxxed. Nearly 50 but fit and well.

Phlaps had Covid before being vaccinated. Was much more ill with the vaccination side effects.

middleager · 23/09/2021 18:45

I'm on day 4 of Covid, 48, overweight, double jabbed with AZ. Last vaccination June.

First, my son was ill on Sat night so I was on guard.
On Sunday I started to feel rough, very tired, headache but chalked it down to not sleeping re DS. Took a LFT negative.

Monday - DS tests positive, but late in the day, he is poorly with shivers, fever. I wake up feeling like I've been hit by a truck. Take a LFT after DS results and it's positive.

Tues - drag myself out to get PCR. Back to bed, cold, but fever up to 39.5

Weds - snotty, grotty, high fever, exhaustion. PCR comes back positive. Start to develop cough by evening.

Today: hacking cough and breathlessness, still snotty, still no taste or smell. But, I made it into the garden.
Exhausted again!

middleager · 23/09/2021 18:49

I forgot sneezing! It's not been pleasant, but, having had flu once, that was still worse.

Silkiescatz · 23/09/2021 18:56

Double jabbed with AZ, late 40s. On my second week of it, day 11. Currently no taste or smell, dizzy all day, breathless, oximeter showing about 94 if lie down but 97 if sit up. Pulse gone quite low and I'm definitely not an elite athlete, only in my dreams! Vomiting /upset stomach every day atm. Initially dry throat, cold which was so heavy couldn't breathe through nose, then cough came with masses of mucous still have that and then struggling to breathe via mouth. Very dizzy at times. Upset stomach on and off for whole time. Spent 11 days in bed so far. Not great. Was also ill after vaccines whereas normally don't react to vaccines. Do have asthma normally which isn't helping. Similar to a gastric flu with breathing harder on top.

DH has been ill for 4 weeks now with it, initially vomitting, then cold / cough which feels mouth with mucous, he has been incredibly tired, sleeping / in bed about 20 hours a day which is only just easing. He was sick a further 3 times with PCR test. Double jabbed AZ, mid 50s.

DD 15, not vaccinated, ill for about 2 weeks, about a week and half in bed, but well enough to do school work from home, very bad cough with muscous but not initially symptom which was vomiting, then cold. First day back at school today.

DS, 14, has escaped so far but has kept his distance.

None of us had temps. I was only one with lack of taste and smell. All of us had coughs but not initially. Initially symptoms were gastric plus cold. All lateral flows negative. Going round both schools like wildfire especially in kids who socialise outside school. Know more kids with it than without it at the moment after a year of knowing no-one with it.
