What were your symptoms (if any)?

How ill did you become (if at all)?

How many vaccinations have you had(if
any)?

Purely out of interest

Got it in July. I’d been double jabbed. I’m mid 40s.

First symptoms were a few days of a sore throat and lots of sneezing, feeling a bit tired and achy. Thought my hay-fever was flaring up.

Then I lost my sense of taste and smell, so took a test and it was positive. I had a slight temperature but mainly I just felt totally wiped out for about 10 days. Aching all over no appetite, couldn’t keep my eyes open and was sleeping 20+ hours a day.

No breathing difficulties or cough.

I recovered well - bit knackered for a few weeks afterwards, but back to normal after that.

Trinacham · 06/09/2021 20:54

I just had covid in August. First symtpom sstarted on 20 August - just body achy, felt like I was coming down with something. Then had runny nose, just a bit sniffly, and sneezing. That was it. I didn't feel unwell. I thought it was a really minor cold. My common colds are a lot worse.

Unvaccinated. Chosen to wait until I've given birth.

Trinacham · 06/09/2021 20:54

Oh and loss of taste and smell! Slowly gaining these back, but not much yet.

SonnetForSpring · 06/09/2021 21:36

@Racingadmin

Double vaxxed , fit and healthy, work out 6 days a week

Currently on day 8 of symptoms

Last Monday started off feeling really tired and nauseous like a hangover . Did my twice weekly lft and negative .

Burst into tears at work after a tricky customer (never ever done this before,)no dinner and went to bed early

Pcr Tuesday on advice of Zoe app - Dh has to drive me to test centre as so tired and joints so painful that to wasn't safe to drive.

Since then really tired, constant headache , sore joints and throat
Head cold type symptoms on days 6 amd 7

Today I feel fine - tired but no other symptoms

I've done daily lft (2 types) and all have been negative. At no point did I have a cough , temperature or loss of taste/ smell.

Your PCR was positive but all LFT negative?
Racingadmin · 06/09/2021 21:43

Yes - every lft has been negative .

I've done the type that you do throat swab , one nostril & 30 mins to develop and both nostrils , 15 mins to develop.

Done one or the other daily since 2 days before the positive pcr. I can't believe it either

I'm definitely swabbing correctly as I worked at a lft test centre in the spring , talking people through doing their lft correctly

Phlaps · 06/09/2021 22:19

DP and I both did 2 x LFT each (negative) within 24 hrs prior to receiving the PCR tests which were immediately positive.

@thelastgoldeneagle

Op, bear in mind that this thread may attract people who had Covid badly, not those who were asymptomatic or who had mild Covid...
and, for balance, it won't attract people who didn't make it either....
SparkyTheCat · 06/09/2021 22:45

Was probably pre/asymptomatic at the time of my second jab, so had a strong reaction including vomiting, shakes, sweats and shivers, aching and stiffness, and being very tired. The cough and runny nose were however harder to write off as side effects, and prompted me to get the pcr which was positive. Looking back I also had a UTI around the same time, which I often get when run down. Day 12ish now and the main symptoms are feeling tired, cough and taste/smell gone strange. I'm early 40s, mildly asthmatic but otherwise healthier than I probably deserve to be given that I'm overweight and drink too much Blush

notHarris · 06/09/2021 22:59

My mum and dad had it a couple of weeks ago, both double jabbed in Jan/Feb

Mum: bad cold, tickly cough, sinus pain, headaches, tight chest, loss of taste and smell for 2+ weeks.
Main symptoms lasted 5 days then completely fine.

Dad; slight cough and slept a bit more than usual (but was bored and likes sleeping so possibly not a symptom)

Both completely fine after their isolation period.

Wegobshite · 06/09/2021 23:18

I’m double jabbed
Bit of a sore throat which surprised me as I if I get a sore thrust it’s normally horrible and I need antibiotics
Coughing a lot
Aching all ones my body felt like I had a fight with Tyson Fury- and lost 😂
Headache something I never ever get
Sweating
Took me about 2 weeks to start feeling better
Sleeping I mean I sleep a lot anyway but this was 3-4 days just sleeping

MyNameForToday1980 · 06/09/2021 23:20

DD (5) had it a few weeks ago.

Completely asymptomatic, she might have been slightly tired one day, but we endured ten days of isolation with a perfectly well child.

DH and I (both double jabbed, one AZ, one Pfizer) didn't catch it. Despite the fact DD is a face breather.

MyNameForToday1980 · 06/09/2021 23:34

I should add, DD tested +ve on PCR, we did it just for 'reassurance' (it wasn't reassuring) after her teacher tested +ve.

She also tested +ve on LFT a few days later.

@sleepfortheweek

Thank you so much for those that have replied and I hope you all make a full recovery.

It's interesting that one of the main symptoms that most seem to be experiencing are similar to the cold (runny/blocked nose, sneezing, sore throat, headaches etc) and yet these aren't symptoms we are told to look out for.

I asked because I had heard that the delay variant causes more cold like symptoms, and yet the government haven't changed their 3 main symptoms to look out for (continuous cough/fever/loss and/or change in taste and smell) to include these.

People have been moaning about that for months, no idea why they won't change it. Lots of people just lie to get the PCR test I think, don't blame them.
PlateSpinnerJuggler · 07/09/2021 06:47

Eldest DD age 10 tested positive on LFT yesterday

Tested her on Sat with a stomach ache - is was clear

Tested again Monday before school as it's going round in her school - was positive

She felt a little off here and there during day, mild temp - max 38.3

In early evening a rash started

And by dinner time she was curled up on my bed in floods of tears not feeling well (heartbreaking) - not really able to explain what - but couldn't get comfortable so I think body flu type aches

She's been awake a lot in night saying feels dizzy, now sound asleep hopefully getting some energy back

HopeYourHighHorseBucks · 07/09/2021 08:56

Started off thursday with tiredness and a sore throat. Symptoms stayed the same until sunday when I woke feeling run down and a slight cough. Tested positive. Symptoms have now gone and I feel back to normal. (I'm aware people say it comes back in waves but so far for me it is like a standard cold that lasted 2/3 days)

Was not expecting the restless legs with it, that was the worst symptom for me.

I haven't had any vaccines.

ConfusedDotty · 07/09/2021 09:01

I have covid now, day 4.

Feeling generally crap, headache, joints ache, feel sick running nose, so so tired.

Early 50s, double vaccinated, no underlying health issues at all and not overweight.

Geekygeek · 07/09/2021 09:08

Bit of a sore throat. Only tested because of close contact.

Not unwell at all.

2 x jabbed

hopingforabrighterfuture2021 · 07/09/2021 09:48

I have it now.

Double jabbed, late 30s. No underlying health conditions but am overweight.

Came on very suddenly.

First night, when symptoms started, High temperature (nearly 40) shivering and flu like symptoms, mainly feeling achy all over and terrible headache. LF test came up positive almost instantly.

Next day temp was still up but not as high, very much like bad cold symptoms and flu, still terrible headache, achy, sore eyes, but really sneezing and runny nose as well as feeling blocked up if that makes sense. Almost like sinus pain. Had PCR which came back positive.

Bit of a sore throat and feeling wiped out. So am now day 3 and still feel pretty unwell. Pre Covid I’d probably have gone back to work tomorrow… obviously I’m not and will SI for the ten days. Hoping I’ve got away relatively lightly but not counting on it just yet as I seem to go up and down.

Darlingbaby · 07/09/2021 11:16

Sore throat on day 1, then cough and sweats day 2,3,4. Felt generally ok, my partner was worse than me, in bed couldn't move for those days. Day 5, exhausted, rested all day, felt dizzy unless I did rest, day 6 much of the same.

Day 7, much improved, cleaned the house did too much. Day 8 back in bed. Day 9 and 10 better again just taking it easy, cough gone.

Day 11, leg pain started and intermittent chest pain, shortness of breath at rest. Contacted GP to discuss it.

Take it easy even if you feel better because it can come back.

Darlingbaby · 07/09/2021 11:17

One vaccination only, had to cancel second due to covid

CatAlice · 07/09/2021 11:27

I am double jabbed. Underlying health condition RA and take steroids etc.

First symptom was a headache for two days. On day three a hint of a sore throat so I did a lateral flow test. Instant positive, followed by positive PCR.
Lost sense of taste and smell at day 5, then increasing fatigue and cough.
Thought it was all going to be mild but ended up in hospital on day 7.
Now day 31 and still not recovered.

Foodroofandfamily · 07/09/2021 11:33

Double jabbed (jan and March) obese, work in social care. Felt like I had a bad cold on last sunday worked a double shift very hot, sweaty and exhausted. Took an ltf on monday as ususal came back positive . Cough cold and aches constantly for 5 days. Blood ox no lower than 95 on a daily basis. Cant sleep and very tired constantly. Cold symptoms on day 8 have lifted slighlty but im feeling faint and sick. I have 3 days till im clear to go back to work but I dont think ill be able to do it. Dont think work will pay me ssp after this date though.

BlondeCornish · 07/09/2021 18:01

Not vaccinated and barely new I had Covid.
Two daughters, 16 and 14, had runny noses, cough, just like a cold.
Husband felt rubbish, mild flu symptoms.
None of us can smell or taste properly yet.

SpnBaby1967 · 07/09/2021 20:56

Extremely sore throat
Tired
Still able to wfh
Temp of 38 for about 2 hours
No vaccinations

Honestly, I've had worse colds and when I did have my vaccine my side effects were horrific. I had a 40C temp, couldn't stop shaking, felt sick, headache etc. Couldn't move my head off the pillow.

Dee1975 · 07/09/2021 21:49

Day 1 - positive LFT - felt a bit odd. Tired. A bit like a hangover. Spaced out.

Day 2 - positive PCR - felt like I’d been hit by a frying pan. Full of head cold. Spaced out. Dizzy. Led on sofa all day. Sneezing. Runny nose.

Day 3 - felt worse. Could hardly get out of bed to go to loo. Full of cold. Sneezing, blocked nose / runny nose. Headache. Temperature for part of the day. High heart rate. Ox was low, (94) but still acceptable.

Day 4 - similar to day 2

Day 5 - felt better. Got dressed and washed hair. Even changed the bedding!

Day 6 - downhill again. Just like a cold. Headaches. Dizzy. Spaced out. Weak. Tired.

Day 7 to day 9 (today) - the same.

I went back to work yesterday (from home) but feel I shouldn’t have. Can’t concentrate. Feel
Like it’s not helping recovery. Don’t have a very sympathetic boss when it comes to sickness though.

Other symptoms on and off are sore / red eyes. Sneezing comes and comes. Heart rate sometimes ok, but in the evenings seems to rise even when lying in bed.

No Cough though at all. Am breathless walking up stairs but put that down to blocked nose and tiredness.

Am Double jabbed. No underlying conditions. But am overweight and I do (did) vape. (Haven’t vaped since positive LFT. Nothing like catching a major respiratory disease to give you the motivation to stop!)

I feel that the jab has stopped it getting into my lungs …. And kept it in my face and head!

Both dh and dd had it, and I had been a bit odd for a week before - like maybe I was fighting it. I guess the viral overload got me in the end.
