DH positive, what now?

DH has tested positive on a LFT today - which he only did because he was meant to be going to a football match tomorrow! He’s had a PCR and waiting the results.

I’m double jabbed (he’s single jabbed) and we have 2 DCs, 6 and 2.

What do we do now? Are we (me and DCs) self isolating until he gets the result (which seems futile as we don’t legally need to if it’s positive) And should DH be keeping away from us? He’s disappeared upstairs and intends to sleep in the spare room. Also, DCs have nursery and school next week, it seems wrong somehow to send them off knowing their dad has Covid!

Do we need PCR tests if his comes back positive? The younger DC had one this week due to a cough which was negative, older one and I did LFT today both negative.

Not sure what to do now tbh.

Update here. DS (6) tested positive on our daily LFT today. He’s so upset. I’m upset too. DH is only single jabbed so his isolation has to start again.

This whole thing is so fucking shit.

@whiteonesugar Oh I’m sorry to hear that… how is your husband feeling now?

Sorry to hear your son tested positive. Just to add I'm 95% sure your husband doesn't have to extend his self isolation period he finishes when he was originally going to even if he has only had one jab. Same happened to us my DH tested positive and 4 days later passed it on to 2 others in the house our isolations started again but test and trace told him he could go out after the original 10 days.

@doublemix thank you I’ve just read that! That’s slightly better then!

@whiteonesugar how are you all doing?

whiteonesugar · 04/09/2021 08:51

Hey @FeelingJittery1 DH is a lot better, just got the lack of taste abd smell lingering but he did smell something yesterday he said, so hoping it comes back.

DS was fine yesterday but went a bit downhill overnight with a temperature but calpol helped and he’s still asleep now.

@whiteonesugar that is great to hear. Looks like one dose after 4 weeks has a positive impact..

FeelingJittery1 · 04/09/2021 12:20

Sorry pressed post too soon- hope your son is better today, children do seem to bounce back quicker

whiteonesugar · 04/09/2021 12:23

@FeelingJittery1 yes I assume so. Though we will never know if he would have been worse without the jab? Luckily he’s fine and coming out the other side now, isolating until Monday then he can come outside lol

Thanks DS is fine today, had a long lay in and now playing Lego.

@whiteonesugar how are you all?

whiteonesugar · 06/09/2021 08:28

We are all fine thank you, DS(2) and I still negative! DS (6) is completely normal, if I haven’t done the LFT on him I wouldn’t have a clue and he’d Be merrily off to school now!

DH is better, he had a couple of beers yesterday so must be….

@whiteonesugar hope you all are back to normal- does your husband have to delay his second dose?

whiteonesugar · 11/09/2021 23:41

Hi @Confused10101 yes he does by about a week - there needs to be 4 weeks between a positive test and the jab.

We are all fine thank you, baby and I still negative and DH and DS fine. DH still can’t smell but has got taste coming back.

Only selfish arseholes are sending their children into school with Covid in the house, regardless of what the dickheads in our government say. Don’t be an arsehole Confused

If they test negative they go in as per the rules . They have missed enough school

@AntiMaskersAreTwats

Thank you for your option 2 weeks later. Much appreciated.
