Is Spain accepting Recovery Certificates? Mixed info online

As the title says, i am finding mixed information about whether Spain is accepting recovery certificates for entry.

DD (16) has a flight booked to stay with family who live in the balearics on the 16th August. She showed symptoms on Wed 21 July and got a pos PCR on the following Monday 26th (first time we could get a PCR). She was actually fine by the time she tested and is getting daily neg LF tests. However, I am aware that you can get a positive PCR for several weeks following infection.

We are confused by the conflicting information online. Some saying you can use a Recovery Certificate as proof you are no longer infectious (despite testing positive) and others saying Spain are not accepting them.

All being well, her PCR will be negative. But we need to understand the backup plan and we don't!! BA just direct us to website that conflict with each other.

Does anyone have a categorical answer? We'd really appreciate clarity.

@SlightlyJaded that's great news, what a relief! 🥳

@iloveredpandas of course, yes - you don't need to take a PCR.

UK still accepting a LF test to return though. They are far less sensitive so you should be fine. Take one before you leave and make sure it's clear to reassure yourselves.

If anyone still worried about travelling after testing positive - daughter tested positive 10/8. Took a lamp test yesterday 22/8 (accepted for travel into Spain) which is slightly less sensitive than a PCR. Results back in two hours. Negative.

@Kaftankween Hi, what is this lamp test you are referring to please? I thought it was just PCR that Spain accepted? We are in the same position. Daughter recovered but tested positive in private PCR ahead of holiday. Keen to know if there is another option before we cancel holiday? I know Spain arent accepting Recovery certificates from UK travellers. Thanks

@mumoftwins2008 Spain does accept Lamp tests. They're very fast turn around tests. More accurate than LFT but apparently less sensitive than pcr. I have found them only really available at sites near airports. Manchester, Liverpool And Heathrow definitely offering.

Hi sorry I never circled back to say THANK YOU I did search it up we went to Heathrow and got a negative and I’m currently writing this from the beach in Ibiza so I can’t tell you how greatful I am that you posted! Massively!

My son tested positive in August. Go to Spain tomorrow and his PCR just came back unclear! Do you think they'll accept his recovery NHS pass?
