How many times did Track and Trace call you whilst isolating?

wecarryon · 27/07/2021 10:58

Not long tested positive, just wondered how likely and frequently I am to be phoned. Haven't been spoken to at all when isolating as a close contact previously but wonder if it’s different when you actually test positive.
Have done the initial test and trace info filling out thing via email but that’s it so far.

We felt completely harrassed when my son caught covid.
Every day I received separate calls about him, me as a contact, and my other son, as a contact. My husband also got his own calls.
There were missed calls early in the morning and when we did pick them up, there were lengthy questions - we were both working from home and trying to home school, and it went on and on for 10 days.
Then there was the barrage of emails.

I feel reallly sorry for people who were really ill and hounded like this. My son waa fairly ill, so on top of work, school and worry, this just about ground us down.

Weaverspin · 29/07/2021 00:25

None at all when my son (17) got a positive Covid PCR. I was expecting them, because another friend told me they’d been phoning her daily! We had not a sausage.

SpeakingFranglais · 29/07/2021 02:52

About four times after a pcr positive test, DH and I tested positive together and would both get our calls separately within minutes of each other.

ifonly4 · 29/07/2021 07:22

DD pinned on day 6. She had one call on day 6.

AbsolutelyPatsy · 29/07/2021 08:11

my dm is 86 and is a contact of my positive dd,
she has had a few calls but she was appreciative of them

igelkott2021 · 29/07/2021 09:40

@MarleneDietrichsSmile

What happens if you don’t answer?

Asking for a friend

Supposedly they'll send someone round to check you are home. So if you are at home, I guess there's no issue.

Given that you are at home kicking your heels I can’t see why you wouldn’t answer people aren't kicking their heels, if I was isolating I'd still be working, and I wouldn't want someone reading the same script to me every day.

kimlo · 29/07/2021 10:28

last time dd1 got one text.

This time I've just done the first phone call so we'll see. I do know people who have been rang every day.

Hoppinggreen · 29/07/2021 10:30

Daily calls, plus daily calls from the Quarantine people
2 different systems apparently

Janaih · 29/07/2021 14:31

Just had my first call day 5.

wecarryon · 29/07/2021 14:33

@Janaih me too, funnily enough! I think filling out the online form seems to help lessen the phonecalls, either that or they're too swamped to make so many right now

@Heartofglass12345 how does it work for returning travellers, as a matter of interest? (Sorry I realise it is a day or so since you posted initially)

Janaih · 29/07/2021 15:19

@wecarryon the young woman who rang me was very unenthusiastic, I think she'd had enough Grin

EastWestWhosBest · 29/07/2021 15:21

Given the number of people I know who have been out while the should be isolating or actually have COVID they are right to call often.

Madcats · 29/07/2021 15:29

We are in the midst of having Covid (luckily DH and DD sound as if they just have bad colds and I feel fine). DH had a positive test result on Sunday (and filled in the online form). He's been phoned once (day 4).

DD and I had negative tests and I was contacted to see if I wanted to join a daily lateral flow test study.

Annoyingly the PCR test I then had to do has come back positive so DD and I have another few days of splendid self-isolation.

dryasaboner · 29/07/2021 15:29

I lost count in the end. Then the younger kids tested positive days after us and they were telling us crap like we needed to isolate for ten days although we had finished our own isolation. One told me off for being in the car going to the shops 'you shouldn't be going anywhere' no mate my isolation ended yesterday ten days after my positive test 🙄🙄🙄🙄grrrr useless system

Heartofglass12345 · 29/07/2021 16:05

@CloudPop I don't have a huge amount to do with them as they are dealt with by a separate team. From what I can see they are contacted on day 2, 7 and 10, I think it depends which country you've returned from as well. They are harassed more if they haven't submitted their test results lol. We have been having contacts from people who they have been on the plane with testing positive, which is confusing them as they thought they didn't have to isolate (depending on which country they've travelled back from) it seems as if the whole plane has to isolate if someone tests positive!

Heartofglass12345 · 29/07/2021 16:05

I'm not sure if that made any sense Grin

DH and I are quarantined atm having been contacted by T n T following our arrival back from hols. We are both negative on Day 2 test and are assuming that someone on our plane tested positive and we are being followed up via the info on our Passenger Locator Forms.
We were emailed and texted yesterday which is actually Day 6 Hmm but not told any dates only “10 days from last contact” Hmm. On that basis and in the absence of any more information we’re assuming our Day 10 is Sunday 1 August. We’ve had no other contact from them as yet.

CloudPop · 29/07/2021 17:04

Thanks @Heartofglass12345

montymum · 29/07/2021 17:11

3 times but because I had 3 positive children they also called me for each of them. The original track and trace calls took me over 2 hours to process and I felt awful! And had 3 sick children and husband too.

I've just tested positive 5 days after DH and he wants to go away in 7 days time (phew DD and I don't have to camp with him and his parents).

It took him a good hour on the 119 phone number, being passed around, to get somebody to confirm he can finish his isolation after his 10 days are up, rather than my 15.

Bolshybun · 29/07/2021 22:59

They rang every day for the whole isolation period when I tested positive, and on repeat for my two children who were isolating - 3 calls every day for two weeks. This was back in October tho

55378OO8 · 29/07/2021 23:14

We didn't get called at all when both DC were isolating as close contacts. We were advised to isolate by school, so possibly track and trace didn't have our direct phone numbers.

confusedandisolating · 30/07/2021 17:40

Returned from France on Weds, so only o. day 2.

Day 1 - a visit and a phone call

Day 2 - a phone call

The chap today said to probably expect a call every day.

FTMworrier · 30/07/2021 19:14

They called on day 1 with my little boy, I have since tested positive and we’ve been in for 10 days so far and heard nothing
