How many times did Track and Trace call you whilst isolating?

wecarryon · 27/07/2021 10:58

Not long tested positive, just wondered how likely and frequently I am to be phoned. Haven't been spoken to at all when isolating as a close contact previously but wonder if it’s different when you actually test positive.
Have done the initial test and trace info filling out thing via email but that’s it so far.

Why would Royal Mail contact you??

Do you mean test and trace?

MereDintofPandiculation · 27/07/2021 15:59

DS got contacted once, after about 5 days. No-one asked if he lived alone, and if so, did he have food or the means of getting it.

ChristmasCurry · 27/07/2021 16:12

@wecarryon

was reported to test and trace by a work colleague who came down with it, was working on a project with them.

I was fine and had no symptoms over the 14 days, but had an antibody test as part of a trial and had Covid-19 antibodies.

wecarryon · 27/07/2021 17:35

@Shelby10 crikey 😶 I didn’t realise home visits were a thing! Cases are very high in our area at the min so I’d be surprised if that happened to us but I guess anything is possible

Every bloody day - but I had been abroad

Cherrydown · 27/07/2021 18:30

My friend got visited by the council twice and 5 phone calls!

AbsolutelyPatsy · 27/07/2021 18:40

Never

Smartiepants79 · 27/07/2021 18:42

Never. But I was isolating due to contact, not ill myself. Don’t know if that makes a difference?

Summersdreaming · 27/07/2021 18:59

3 times roughly every 3 days. I was all set to be a bit grumpy about it but they were incredibly perky and polite so I didn't mind in the end, it was only 2 or 3 minutes each time.

Shelby10 · 27/07/2021 23:09

Yeah… we were surprised. Felt like criminals though. We got tested for a reason so obviously prepared to stay home

mrsdolittle · 28/07/2021 07:32

DS tested positive. T&T rang once to talk to him (on my phone as I used my number when booking his PCR). DH and I got texts to tell us to self isolate with him. None of us were contacted again. Was expecting a barrage of calls - but nothing.

igelkott2021 · 28/07/2021 11:56

A work colleague of mine was being called four times a day as her family of four were isolating. I think I'd have blocked their number after the first call. If they send round police - well meh, I'd be here.

DarceyDashwood · 28/07/2021 20:55

I was called 3 or 4 times. Reminding me o legally had to isolate, asking how I was and if I needed any support etc.

chellingham · 28/07/2021 21:23

FIL caught it in hospital. He died ( not of Covid but something else) after two weeks. I found his mobile in his home and there were five calls and multiple text messages from track and trace.

Porcupineintherough · 28/07/2021 21:39

3 times. This was over Christmas so I guess they were less zealous than usual.

SouthOfFrance · 28/07/2021 21:44

For people who've said they blocked the number, how did you know it was trace & trace calling, in order to block their number?
Do they take a dim view of blocking their number or it makes no difference?

EastWestWhosBest · 28/07/2021 21:47

Loads. I had Covid and got called every other day. I also got called from the local team as they were trying to work out where the local outbreak originated from

Dntevenknowit · 28/07/2021 21:48

One call after testing positive - gave details of close contacts: they were never contacted and positive person hasnt been contacted since either

MarleneDietrichsSmile · 28/07/2021 21:53

What happens if you don’t answer?

Asking for a friend

@MarleneDietrichsSmile

What happens if you don’t answer?

Asking for a friend

Given that you are at home kicking your heels I can’t see why you wouldn’t answer.
Janaih · 28/07/2021 21:55

I believe it's an 0300 number.

chellingham · 28/07/2021 22:23

Well FIL didn't answer because he was dying in hospital. So nothing happened there

OrangeBananaFish · 28/07/2021 22:26

I've already posted, but I've been called 3 times today. Again didn't answer. I wasn't at home "kicking my heels" Hmm, I was working from home and was busy. My isolation ends tonight so I assume that I won't get any more calls.

Heartofglass12345 · 28/07/2021 22:38

I work for test and trace in wales, we ring positive cases once to find out who they've had contact with during their infectious period and maybe after that to clarify things. We don't usually call again after that.
We are meant to call contacts of positive cases every day to see if they have symptoms but we have hundreds of new cases that take priority every day now so we haven't been able to call people every day.
It's different if you are an arriving traveller.

omgthepain · 28/07/2021 23:04

My friend and her sister had to isolate and her sister
Got nothing
My friend woken up At 7:30am she told
Them if they couldn't call at a more sensible time she'd not answer so she just kept her phone on silent while she was resting and didn't answer it she had 8 missed calls
