So what's going to happen to under-age clubbers, then?

Asking for my youngest child a friend.

Clubs are stuffed full of young people who are well under 18, all of whom have fake ID. However, they can't have the Covid vaccination other than for particular medical reasons. Is there going to be a black market in Covid passports, along with "lost" provisional driving licences?

God knows, I had my first baby at age 21 after six very hardcore years of clubbing, drinking and god knows what else, every Friday and Saturday night.

I often tell people that when they give me a sad face for having a baby so young at 21. I’d packed in a lot by then, 7 girly Ibiza holidays, 3 to other destinations like malia etc. Got myself on the property ladder etc.

I didn’t feel that young at 21.

@RufustheBadgeringReindeer

I just said to dh that there will be no more going to the pub or a nightclub on your 18th birthday
You can get the vaccine up to 3 months prior to turning 18y iirr, so gives them chance to get jabbed in time.

Being 21 now is shit.

Re underage clubbers

Fake ID has always been a thing. Covid passport fake ID won't be any different.

This is making me so angry. For something that is supposed to be voluntary they are really trying to make it mandatory.

How dare they coerce young people into having a vaccine that is not primarily for their own benefit and, given that the delta variant is still getting through to double vaxxed people, is not as beneficial for ‘the greater good’ either.

Thank you abraxan

@TabbyStar

Not great for the first to turn 18 in their friendship group who will have to go alone!
Or the summer-borns who won't be able to join in any of their older friends' celebrations until it is their own turn.

Actually as an old fogey I am hopeful underage teens won't be able to get around this, but I suspect those that really want to go will find a way...

My DD fairly recently turned 18; I can't say I'm upset that she missed a year of under-age clubbing! She did go last night, but it was all a bit much for her!

@DigitalGhost

Christ I was already sick of nightclubs by the time I was 18 Blush
Snap.

My first thought when I heard this yesterday was 'oh poor year 12' (secondary teacher).

This is a good question OP. Another example of Policymaking by people in government who don’t actually live in the real world.

Isn't it just?

I laughed at 'Poor Year 12'.

It's all just rubbish.
