Photos of crowded night clubs

Is it just me feeling a bit weird and uneasy looking at all the photographs of sweaty people literally crammed into packed clubs across the country?

@GrannyandTom

I do hope these nightclubbers are going to be prosecuted for manslaughter. Mark my words, their grannies will be dead within the month.
Are you @NannyAndJohn with a name change to spread your miserable bitterness on multiple platforms 🤔
TheVampiresWife · 19/07/2021 15:43

@GrannyandTom I think I love you Grin

DottyHarmer · 19/07/2021 15:49

Discovidiots !!!! (Ooh, I’ll have to contact the Sun with that one!)

Never liked nightclubs but school discos…. Ah, those were the days. The horror now of snogging a random boy you met in the village hall Grin

Omg that's inspired. Get it trending on Twitter!

Discovidiots !!
Love this.

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 19/07/2021 16:44

I think they look brilliant and wish I was younger!! Look away if offended. Stay under your duvet and 'stay safe' 😂😂

Carlislemumof4 · 19/07/2021 17:12

Just announced that from the end of September only those fully vaccinated will be allowed entry to nightclubs and other crowded venues. Negative test not a sufficient alternative. Glad to hear it.

FlyLight · 19/07/2021 17:14

But half the bloody cases are in vaccinated people, why wouldn't a negative test be enough? Unbelievable.

User135644 · 19/07/2021 17:15

My only problem.with "freedom day' is that I've already been called a sheep and asked (shouted at)wtf I'm frightened of you paranoid bitch by some gobby arsehole in Sainsburys this morning because I chose to still wear a mask. It's now personal choice. Once again it'd sbout respecting each others choices and avoiding situations etc that you're not comfortable with.

I'll be avoiding all indoor places till everything calms down. I fear being screamed at for wearing a mask or for not wearing a mask.

ChaToilLeam · 19/07/2021 17:16

It’s nuts. Just hope it doesn’t all go tits up.

IsobelEd · 19/07/2021 17:20

DD is another one going clubbing this week for first time ever. Will just have to hope that the cocktail of antibodies from two jabs and a Covid infection last month keeps her safe.

Of course it makes me nervous but I completely understand why it feels important to her - she's been looking forward to this day since long before her 18th birthday. So mostly I just hope she has a great night.

IsobelEd · 19/07/2021 17:30

Not really sure how it's different to going to a non-socially distanced theatre to be honest and no one is shouting about that.

Yes, in a theatre you're only in close proximity to perhaps 15-20 others, but your interaction is prolonged for 2 or 3 hours - whereas in a club, contact might be fleeting.
And big nightclubs tend to have much better ventilation systems than a rickety Victorian theatre would.

LST · 19/07/2021 17:31

Just don't go. I aren't feeling remotely uneasy and I am CV. I am going to a festival myself in August and I cannot wait

ParadiseLaundry · 19/07/2021 17:32

@Pootle40

Personally it made me smile to see people enjoying themselves.
Totally agree.

Young people have sacrificed so much, they should be getting out and enjoying themselves. It's only because most people (me included) haven't set foot in a club for years and it's no longer their idea of fun anymore so they think no one should be doing it.

There's no way this is all going to end until we're all vaccinated or have caught Covid. It's a good idea to allow it to spread in the summer amongst young people (who have a minuscule chance of dying or becoming very ill) so they don't catch it/pass it on in winter. I hope the infection rates peak and then tail off this summer and then never peak as high again (and deaths and admissions remain low, even if they do rise a bit)

Blessex · 19/07/2021 17:35

Good for them. This is now called living with Covid.

SimonJT · 19/07/2021 17:40

That’ll be us on Friday night, we can’t wait!

Siepie · 19/07/2021 17:50

@TimeForLunch

It's so good to see young people out enjoying themselves in the way young people like to do (I realise this makes me sound very old).
Me too! I’m well past my clubbing days but I’m a lecturer and so proud of my students the last couple of years. I hope they’re having fun!

Well this has cheered me up😂😂 say hi to Nanny and John
PiddleOfPuppies · 19/07/2021 18:15

After today's announcement about vaccine passports for clubs and other "crowded" areas, I'm tempted to go clubbing this weekend myself. I've never been one for sticking two fingers at the Establishment, but they've crossed a line for me.

TheKeatingFive · 19/07/2021 18:16

😂 😂 😂

itsgettingwierd · 19/07/2021 18:16

Cant deny my question to colleagues this morning was

"Did anyone see the pictures of the midnight covid parties?"

I don't begrudge them and I won't be doing it.

I don't think it's sensible right now but no more insensible than schools lack of mitigation's have been.

I'm definitely perched on a fence post on this one!

Greyhair59 · 19/07/2021 18:20

Good for them. My ds is 19 and went to his first club last night. Fully vaxxed.

user1487194234 · 19/07/2021 18:42
