How many of your household tested positive in the end?

Currently only DH so 1/3 but it's early days.

@MrsPnut fingers crossed for you.

I'm definitely guilty of being quite lax about covid, but our stakes are not high like yours Flowers

2 of us in the house. DS tested positing yesterday despite the LF tests he's been doing daily being negative. We're both isolating of course so just really hoping I don't get it.

Summersdreaming · 14/07/2021 08:45

@FaintlyMacabre

4/5 so far here. DS2 brought it from school and gave it to DS1 and DD. DH then got it on day 8. He’s double jabbed but with AZ, I’ve had Pfizer and also had Covid last year, haven’t got it so far. If I catch it now our holiday is cancelled so hope the vaccine holds it at bay!
Yep, I was a few days away from my 2nd jab, DH now won't get his in time to fly, and I'm close to the 30 day rule for travelling after covid eek. Meant to fly 3rd week in August.

3/4. DD2 (10) and me initially. I'm double jabbed but was only just at the 2 week post 2nd jab mark. DD1 (15) got it from us a week later. DH didn't get it (he had the same jab date as me).

DD1 was virtually symptomless, had 1 tired day. I was pretty rotten for 7 days, although none of the classic respiratory symptoms at all, just gastric symptoms for me, along with extreme tiredness. DD1 had 3 days of headache, 'burning' sensation in nose & tiredness. So all different!!

Ylvamoon · 14/07/2021 08:46

1/4

But one family member had contact with a confirmed case and was told to isolate.
Who then became positive themselves.

So we do everything possible to keep away and a lot of sanitising!

poshme · 14/07/2021 08:46

4/5
both adults double jabbed AZ.

I tested negative on LFTs throughout (but feeling awful so had PCR- positive)

Jfw82 · 14/07/2021 08:47

3/4 here. Me first (single jabbed), then Dh (also single jab) and Ds(4) whilst Dd(2) escaped. Me and Dh both felt awful whilst ds never had any symptoms.

horseymum · 14/07/2021 08:47

DS is positive, waiting to see if the rest of us are, PCR today. DH fully Vax, me only just ( on Saturday!) and two dds not. We've been strict with his isolation and knew he was a contact very early so hopefully shut him away soon enough! He wears a mask to come through the house to access the garden and even then is well apart from us when he takes it off, inside he's only in his room and own bathroom. 🤞

Okki · 14/07/2021 09:32

DD is positive. DH just gone for a PCR as he has developed cold symptoms. His LFT's have all been negative. DS and I currently fine. DH and I are both double jabbed and have been for about 6 weeks.

Summersdreaming · 14/07/2021 09:45

Well I'm positive too so 2/3 now. Still negative on lft.

HamSandwichKiller · 14/07/2021 09:50

My son has covid and we're on day 6 of isolating.
Neither my DH or I have any symptoms though I'm not interested in testing any further without symptoms as it feels pointless.
We're isolating anyway until early next week.

Summersdreaming · 14/07/2021 11:41

Fair enough Ham. I needed to test negative or positive so I could either have my second jab or have proof of recent infection for my holiday next month, I'm not testing dd again unless she develops symptoms.

Okki · 15/07/2021 08:23

Well DH has just tested positive. @poshme how long did you all end up isolating for if you tested positive at different times. Still DS and I to go.

poshme · 15/07/2021 08:29

We followed the gov guidance which matches what T&T told me.

Delta - if you've recently had a positive case in your house..
poshme · 15/07/2021 08:31

Sorry- posted too soon! My total isolation will be 16 days in total.
DS only 11 (was close contact and then symptomatic quite quickly)

DD just the 10 days, DH and other DS in between.

Okki · 15/07/2021 08:57

Thank you @poshme. I hadn't seen that poster. Makes it much clearer than the nhs website.

Summersdreaming · 15/07/2021 09:26

Still negative on LFT. Only doing them now out of curiosity, why would my PCR be positive the day before symptoms started, but multiple LFT be negative every time.. my trust in them is low to say the least.

OP posts:
HamSandwichKiller · 15/07/2021 10:18

@Summersdreaming trace and protect told me this week that LFT's only show a positive when there's a high level of Covid in the system.
PCR tests are a lot more sensitive basically.

3 of us out of 5

Mumbunmum · 15/07/2021 21:32

I cannot seem to find any thread where I can ask this / much information! Can someone help, it’s Delta/Covid related…
4yo Son started with symptoms this afternoon, had a raging temp last night, put it down to an eye infection he’s currently got.. this morning horrible sore throat, and temp won’t go below 38.1 noticed spots at back of throat so phoned GP, they said sounds like could be new variant so get him to a testing facility ASAP, which I have done. However, if it’s negative he’s got tonsillitis in which case he will give him antibiotics AND see him. Can I just ask what your symptoms were properly if you’ve had Covid recently? Getting panicked and cases are rising soooo quick! Ahhhh.

Ylvamoon · 15/07/2021 21:40

@Mumbunmum - I am sorry for your little one. But our family member had the same symptoms incl. sore eyes & test came back positive. (Same ad the person the family member was in contact with...)

Indigopearl · 15/07/2021 21:43

It sounds a lot more like tonsillitis than covid to me. This might help www.cooperhealth.org/services/tonsillitis-adults/covid-19-and-tonsillitis
Hope he feels better soon.

IvorHughJarrs · 15/07/2021 21:44

I work in an area with a high rate of the delta variant. We have had numerous patients ring the surgery unwell but negative LFT results, all are advised to get PCR and almost all get positive result.
Please do not rely on LFT if symptomatic

Mumbunmum · 15/07/2021 21:59

I’m really hoping it is tonsillitis his spikes in temp have been pretty awful, 39.1 - to 38.9 and currently stuck at 38.1 and doesn’t want to budge much. Sad that I’m hoping he has tonsillitis really isn’t it…

lemonbiscuit · 15/07/2021 22:04

1 out of 5 of us. The one who had it was only vaccinated with the first dose a few days earlier. 3 of the rest of us were double jabbed and the other person was single jabbed several weeks ago. But we kept our distance and were very careful once we knew we had a positive case.
