Is anyone still using the NHS track and trace app?

I heard on Radio 4 today that 25 million people downloaded it, but the govt has no idea how many people are still using it. So are you?

Yes, it’s always on in the background but I’ve started scanning in to shops etc now again. Cases are high where I am.

No, never had it. I do sign in manually if asked to but about 50% of places never ask or check

I have tracing turned off and only use it to check in if I am forced to by the venue.

I deleted it recently. Heard too many horror stories.

I'm double vaccinated, work from home, wear a mask as appropriate and would test if in doubt about my health or potential exposure. I feel that's enough.

I’ve recently deleted it, I don’t trust it at all. I’ve known people get a notice to isolate based on their neighbour having tested positive.
I also don’t get the need to ‘check in’ to venues. If I’m sat 2m away from everyone else then it really shouldn’t impact me if someone else there tests positive. I’ve started either just pretending to scan the app or writing my details down but giving the wrong number.

How are you all faking the scanning in?

When are people going to learn that its TEST and Trace, not fucking track and trace. The whole point is that people are traced after a positive test.

@Billybagpuss Just wave your phone in the general direction of the code poster. If they ask have you scanned in, say yes. I've never, ever been asked to show my phone to 'prove' anything.

Sky news we're interviewing someone this morning (I didn't catch the first bit so don't know who he was) who said there is a lot of confusion around checking into places. He said a lot of people (myself included) thought that if they gave a pub/restaurant their contact details on check in they would be contacted if there was a positive case and told to isolate. Apparently this isn't so, the establishment can only contact you and advise you to be careful and let you know you may have been near someone who has tested positive. Only the app with the tracing turned on can ask you to isolate.

Just for checking in to venues.
Even the app itself advises hospital workers who wear surgical masks at work to switch the bluetooth tracing off. I cant be bothered to keep turning it back on when i leave work so it stays off.

I vaguely hold my phone next to the bar code when entering the venue and staff doesn’t check what’s happening on my phone!

I’m also doing two lateral flows a week but not reporting them.

I have sometimes taken a photo, then if anyone did ask I would just say that is what I thought you had to do.
