Is anyone still using the NHS track and trace app?

I heard on Radio 4 today that 25 million people downloaded it, but the govt has no idea how many people are still using it. So are you?

Yes

Brokenrecord3006 · 06/07/2021 18:08

No, I've never downloaded it.

Signoramarella · 06/07/2021 18:10

No. I got pinged 2 weeks ago to isolate. No idea why or who. Deleted it . Not having the gvt telling me what to do

OytheBumbler · 06/07/2021 18:26

I had it since the start but it's never pinged despite my going out and about everywhere.

moynomore · 06/07/2021 18:27

No and pretend check in.

Flaunch · 06/07/2021 18:28

Deleted it and now fake checking in to venues.

Strugglingtodomybest · 06/07/2021 18:30

Yes

SpnBaby1967 · 06/07/2021 18:43

I only downloaded it to get into my favourite restaurant. Tracing is switched off.

Downtown36 · 06/07/2021 18:54

Nope. I’m not happy to be ‘pinged’ now the most vulnerable are either vaccinated or choosing to take greater precautions.

Unbelievable that the requirement to isolate for 10 days is continuing for those double vaccinated.

DeadButDelicious · 06/07/2021 18:56

Nope. Never had it.

tumpymummy · 06/07/2021 19:06

I did have it for months and used it for checking in but I've now deleted it now I know how absurd it is. A few months ago my work colleague had Covid-19 so obviously I isolated for 2 weeks (old rules). Not once was I contacted by test and trace. Then another colleague was pinged recently and told to self isolate. The rediculous thing was that he had been isolating anyway (due to known contact) and had not been anywhere. The new ping literally said he'd have to isolate for another 10 days straight after the first 10 days! I don't mind isolating if I really have been in contact with a known case, but I'm not isolating for 10 days for some random ping!

nellly · 06/07/2021 19:09

@RichardMarxisinnocent

Yes to check in to venues. I have contact tracing switched off.
Same here
TreaslakeandBack · 06/07/2021 19:13

No. No desire to self isolate because some random has Covid.

MouldyPotato · 06/07/2021 19:41

I use it as I use public transport

Twickerhun · 06/07/2021 19:44

@Signoramarella

‘Not having the govt tell me what to do’ is my quote of the day.
Bashitcrazy · 06/07/2021 20:17

I did have it but deleted it after my husband got pinged by someone in the spin room at his gym.
They'd tested positive and spent the whole hour in the spin room which is completely separate from the rest of the gym, separate entrance everything. Because that person had the phone in a bag which was against the internal wall anyone walking past was also pinged and notified to isolate.
Despite my husband explaining all this he was still made to isolate for 10 days from work 😡.

Bobholll · 06/07/2021 20:27

I have it but I have tracing is switched off. I use it when I’m asked to scan the barcode thing (which is rare). I went to a cafe today without my phone (also extremely rare 😂) & I had to faff giving my full contact details, no thanks. I just want my muffin please!

isthismad89 · 06/07/2021 20:35

I still use it to sign in, I've never used it for anything else.

Arsebucket · 06/07/2021 20:36

I didn’t ever have it, but I don’t go anywhere I’d even need to check in, sadly (skint! Can’t remember the last time I went to a pub or out to eat, must be over 3 years).

AlecTrevelyan006 · 06/07/2021 20:40

I’ve never downloaded it

MoiraNotRuby · 06/07/2021 20:40

I do have it because I had to check in at an appointment for DD, but switched contact tracing off, and have never checked into anywhere else.

TeddingtonTrashbag · 06/07/2021 20:43

No - utter nonsense. Appeared on the phone without me downloading and I deleted as soon as aware.

Ietthemeatcake · 06/07/2021 20:46

Yes, bit given no one else seems to be, and the fact I am working from home I'm not likely to get pinged!

PassTheVinoTinto · 06/07/2021 20:53

I did download it but rarely take my phone out with me so pointless really. I've just deleted it!

XpressoMartini · 06/07/2021 21:11

I never downloaded it and fake signing in at venues. My husband and myself get tested pretty much weekly (PCR) due to frequent foreign travel, the kids test twice a week at school. There is no way an app will force me to isolate even if I test negative.
