A lot of the public are realizing that whatever they do and whatever they sacrifice it will never be enough to please some others. If Christmas was "cancelled" people would not accept a January lockdown and you would get very low compliance if they did both.
And NHS CEO Chris Hopson has got a fucking cheek with his tweets. Many NHS workers have been bullied and emotionally blackmailed into coming into work when ill pre Covid. So the NHS management etc should get their own fucking house in order rather than using the same emotional blackmail tactics on the public that they use on their front line staff. I suppose the higher ups are frightened they will actually have to do some work for their bloated pay.

@sleepwouldbenice My mother has a brain issue We are not sure where she will be in six months time. So yes last Christmas was fucking important to some of us. But i already got told on another thread that a. its not Covid and b. shes not dead so it doesnt count. So dont go to too much trouble. Id hate for you to have to do something you dont need to as ive already been put in my place.

@sleepwouldbenice Thank You. IMO Boris and Hancock should be facing charges. I think we both agree the way they have handled this whole thing is horrific.

I'm not saying he shouldn't have close protection officers or he shouldn't be taken seriously @Treehaus @AnyFucker. I'm just very pissed off the difference in response this gets when it's done to a high profile bloke versus a woman. I've approached the police before because I've had drunk men alright darling and put their hands on me and the police told me that the men didn't mean any harm, my family said if I walked home alone it was bound to happen,. it was minimised and laughed off by so many people, I wouldn't even bother mentioning it on subsequent occasions. Lots of men minimise and laugh this stuff off in regards to men doing it to women. But this incident shows they know exactly that it is a deeply initimadting and humiliating form of harassment after all.

It’s crazy the blame is being placed on Chris whitty. The rest of Europe all had lockdowns too, they couldnt have been avoided. It’s not like the uk was the only place. The scientific advisors were just managing the timing of it really.

This is horrible. I hope he is all right and that they can give him better security. Shocking.

It's interesting that one of the men's defence is along the lines of, 'he didn't ask us to stop'.

Chris Whitty is a reserved man - not a stereotypically macho goon like the two 24-year-old men who accosted him. How interesting that Whitty is being, well, victim-blamed I suppose.
