So me,dh +dc currently self isolating as we have all tested positive for covid. We all have similar symptoms the dc not so severe but myself being the worst and I'm the only one who's had both vaccinations!?

I would assume it’s a good thing you’ve been vaccinated, presumably would be a hell of a lot worse if you hadn’t been

Namechanged4thi5 · 28/06/2021 20:48

Hope you all feel better soon. Which vaccine have you had?

WhoUsedMyName · 28/06/2021 20:49

@Luzina yes maybe but questionable

WhoUsedMyName · 28/06/2021 20:50

Thanks @Namechanged4thi5 I had the phizer

knittingaddict · 28/06/2021 20:50

Well to vacs obviously. Think how much worse would you have felt without the vaccine.

WhoUsedMyName · 28/06/2021 20:50

Pfizer sorry
@Luzina yes maybe but questionable
Look this is obviously just another thinly disguised anti vaccine thread. It's so boring now.

WhoUsedMyName · 28/06/2021 20:51

@knittingaddict maybe so but it's unknown isn't it even the baby who is 6m got it and is coping fine

OP posts:
WhoUsedMyName · 28/06/2021 20:52

@knittingaddict well you may think that but I'm all for vaccines all my children have always been vaccinated. If your thy bored don't comment on my thread

OP posts:
LubaLuca · 28/06/2021 20:54

That's bad luck, but I suppose we all know that vaccination doesn't come with a guarantee. Take comfort from the fact you did your best to avoid it.

Parker231 · 28/06/2021 20:55

Thank goodness you have been vaccinated or you could have been seriously ill. The vaccine doesn’t stop you getting Covid but helps with you becoming seriously ill and needing hospital care.

WhoUsedMyName · 28/06/2021 20:55

I actually just wanted to see if anyone in similar situation is also now questioning it because it is all very odd. My dh will still be vaccinated for covid but I am now questioning if my dc will need it.

OP posts:
WhoUsedMyName · 28/06/2021 20:57

@LubaLuca @Parker231
Yes maybe your both right it's just the unknown still isn't it really.

OP posts:
Bonifacethethird · 28/06/2021 20:59

How do people seem to be so sure that the OP would've been iller without it? Total conjecture!

Parker231 · 28/06/2021 20:59

There isn’t an unknown. You had the vaccine, got Covid but aren’t in hospital attached to a ventilator. The vaccine has done what it is meant to

LubaLuca · 28/06/2021 21:00

It isn't all very odd. It's explicable, and not unexpected that some vaccinated people will become ill with covid.

WhoUsedMyName · 28/06/2021 21:00

But my dh & 5 dc who aren't vaccinated including a baby aren't any worse that was my question @Parker231

OP posts:
WhoUsedMyName · 28/06/2021 21:02

@Bonifacethethird that was exactly my point. Confused

OP posts:
LubaLuca · 28/06/2021 21:02

We know that some people are killed by covid, and some don't even know they've had it. You aren't more ill than your family because you've had the vaccine, if that's what you're getting at.

oohmethumb · 28/06/2021 21:03

@Parker231
Do you honestly believe that? Even though the vast majority of people who had Covid pre-vaccine had mild illness?

WhoUsedMyName · 28/06/2021 21:04

@LubaLuca yes so if I wasn't vaccinated what was the chances of me being any worse than what I have been. No one will ever no so therefore it is unknown

OP posts:
WhoUsedMyName · 28/06/2021 21:06

Oh well I guess it's crap but we're all still here At home. So I can only hope that the vaccine did its job.

OP posts:
Parker231 · 28/06/2021 21:06

We have the vaccine to protect us from becoming seriously ill and to limit the transmission of the virus.

Isn’t that why you had the vaccine @oohmethumb

WhoUsedMyName · 28/06/2021 21:08

Maybe I'm immune to vaccinations I had the meningitis one too still got meningitis. Maybe im really unlucky or really lucky Hmm

OP posts:
oohmethumb · 28/06/2021 21:11

@Parker231
I haven't had the vaccine. I've been advised by my doctors not to. In my case the risk of the vaccine outweighs the risk of Covid.
I make this alright in my head by remembering that vast majority of people in my age group and with my risk factors have mild illness.
