So I work in a secondary school. Today we have had all of year 9 off isolating and will be the same next week. Also only had 40 year 10 students in due to the rest isolating.

Is it looking bad again for schools, what is it like in your area/schools?
I'm from South Yorkshire, also heard of a few other local schools having year groups off!

My own year 10s: 6 and 4 self isolations.Half of each of their classes have had Covid now, so it's petered off the past two weeks.

One of their schools, kids were faking tests to get time off school, reporting false LFTs by using their parents' emails to report positive tests, which was finally realised by senior leaders.

Schools I work with, current:
1 closed
1 with a year group out
Another class out
1 with 2 classes out
Another with a bubblr out

All neighbouring schools suffering. Hundreds out.

I follow this poster on Twitter who keeps a log of known schools with closures.
Seeing it all together is pretty sobering, and these are only the ones we know about.

My child's year is the only year still attending their secondary school, apart from a number of year 12s, as their year is only partially closed.

They have their last assessment today before the end of term, am wondering whether they will end up with the whole school off.

DD's year were told to isolate yesterday (primary). We have been very lucky so far and only had 1 period of isolation for 1 year group previously, despite being in a high risk area

Well we only have year 9s and 3 year 8 tutor groups in. So about 250 kids in the whole secondary school!
Also 2 staff members who have had both vaccines have tested positive and one of those is really ill with it
