Sorry if this is old news, I’m trying to avoid watching the news and deleted notifications for the news app.

Had my first jab today and the gentleman told me vaccine passports are definitely going to be thing, encouraged me to download the app which (on his) showed the QR code he told me that pubs etc will be asking for.

Was anyone else told this when having theirs?

The app seems to vary

I downloaded it without any ID at all yet DH needed to use his drivers license?

Note to all those requesting paper copy - it has an end date on

Every time you log in or download a pdf version of your vaccine status it only lasts a month or so so don’t do it too early or it won’t be valid

I imagine most this year will go to Spain given there are no pre entry tests

That’s no brainier to me as it limits anything ruining your holiday before you even get there

Some advisory committee are putting it to parliament to not proceed with the passport. There was an official petition objecting to it.

And that's daft of Malta to want all those over 12 to be vaccinated considering there is nothing yet widely available for under 18's.

The rest of the world vaccine, test or previously had the virus.

TheDailyCarbunkle · 27/06/2021 13:30

The best that can happen with vaccine passports is that there's a half-arsed attempt to introduce them, all the predictable problems arise and they just quietly dump them or announce that they're no longer necessary due to strong and stable Bojo's genius.

The worst that can happen is that people are essentially treated as unclean pariahs for not wanting or being able to be vaccinated. Perhaps they should wear a yellow corona shape on their clothes to signal how undesirable they are?

Plus to travel you can also do a test to show you don't have it.
You can also travel if you have had previous had covid.

Although I'm coming around to the idea of countries not allowing minors in. The flight will be blissful without the extra noise. No young children screaming around the pool. Quieter airports without going children running around.

Meanwhile back in reality as if countries are going to do that because they will loose out on money. Just like the UK, other countries need the tourist income.

Wasn't that long ago we were told by random people that to have a pint, attend a concert and countless other things this passport would be needed. What's happening with that? committees.parliament.uk/committee/327/public-administration-and-constitutional-affairs-committee/news/155788/no-justification-for-covid-passports-say-committee/

@Canigooutyet Not to Malta - you need both - vaccination and a PCR test. Also look at the “green pass” required in Abu Dhabi, you can’t get in a shop etc without one. If you are not vaccinated, you have to be retested every three days! Just two examples that I have looked at given that we are travelling to one country and have a cancelled trip to the other that we would like to reschedule. People can shout and scream all they want about vaccine passports but if they want to travel, they will have to accept the rules of the country they are travelling to or choose not to go.

Bunsy

Malta is vaccine or pcr

Pcr for kids 5-11

Kids over 12 must be vaccinated

Visiting fiance in the US, in Delaware rules are already different for vaccinated/unvaccinated people, such as masks in shops.
To get here I travelled through 2 countries that already have vaccine passports to allow people to skip PCR tests - Croatia and Montenegro. An expat friend in Montenegro has a formal certificate complete with QR code
