There are actually a lot more walk-ins than listed. We're in outer London with none listed, but they're all jabbing anyone who shows up according to all the neighbourhood groups. I think it's actually going to be a very good weekend for jabs.

Cafeaulait27 · 26/06/2021 12:25

I was going to say the same about the gloom mongers (I will mention no names) thankfully they seem to have disappeared now!

Great news about Israel, walk ins and vaccine effectiveness! I’m hopeful that things will get better in the next month or so xx

Dementedswan · 26/06/2021 12:33

Newcastle eagles have a walk in this weekend for all over 18s. Hopefully they should get a good turn out. Take up seems high in the North East.

Dementedswan · 26/06/2021 12:36

Personal good news.. I'm now over 6 weeks post 2nd AZ and so pleased I put those big girl knickers on. My anxiety is getting under control with help from meds and being double jabbed... I actually feel like a wander around the shops Smile

Did their mascot get the jab tooGrin
Dementedswan · 26/06/2021 12:48

@TruelyonelastSchlep I've no idea Grin

Bordois · 26/06/2021 13:19

DH has moved his second jab from mid July to tomorrow 🥳

EasterIssland · 26/06/2021 14:55

That’s good!

My bad news: mum had to had urgent surgery on Thursday.
My more bad news : my flights to visit my parents has been cancelled today (they were on the 25th of July )

My good news : I’ve found cheaper flights to visit my family on the 24th. They’re from London instead of sw but I’ll do whatever that gets me to my family

28 days left ! :)

Bordois · 26/06/2021 15:19

As the doom twins are holding court on the thread about this, I thought I'd post it here as it seems to be good news. Whilst cases are rising, the resulting rise in hospitalisation and deaths looks to be at a much lower ratio than it was in previous waves.

Bordois · 26/06/2021 15:21

As you can see, their now seems to be a bit of divergence between cases and deaths whereas before they correlated almost exactly.

Sorry to hear about your mum, hope she has a good recovery. So happy you get to go and see her and your Dad though 🥳

Sending good vibes Loki's way now, hoping she gets to see her family soon too!

Cafeaulait27 · 26/06/2021 18:01

Love that Ed Conway thread - very reassuring on all points really x

TruelyonelastSchlep · 26/06/2021 20:25

Sorry to here about your mum EastFlowers Glad you got some new flights. We all know how much you want to visit the family.

Good job Bordois ❤ and 🥳 for your hubby

Doom twins, can't imagine who you mean 😂

TruelyonelastSchlep · 26/06/2021 20:57

Are tennis balls environmentally friendly?

Bobholll · 26/06/2021 22:27

I had my second Pfizer today, 6 weeks after my first. I’m beyond delighted, I genuinely didn’t think I’d have had my first at this point earlier in the year! I’m 33.

My local council have multiple walk in centres running this weekend (& next week). The guidance on the council website states you must be 8 weeks post first vaccine but on the ground, rumours started flying round Facebook that they were jabbing anyone post 3 weeks Pfizer & 4 weeks AZ. And sure enough, when I went this morning that was what I was told 🙌🏼 Then, this afternoon a mass council email went out saying anyone post 3 weeks was eligible 🙈

twinmum86 · 27/06/2021 08:15

I'm just over 4 weeks post first Pfizer now and keeping my eyes peeled for walk in centres. We go on holiday at the beginning of august (uk) and I would like to have had my second jab before that ideally. Currently it's booked for the weekend we get back.

Is there somewhere to look up walk on centres?

MancyNitford · 27/06/2021 08:32

@twinmum86 you can look up vaccine places offering walk ups here.

This is a reassuring graph but am having difficulty trusting it. There is always a lag between cases and deaths but this graph appears to the show them growing and declining at the same time?
Wherediditgo · 27/06/2021 08:40

Ignore me - it says it is adjusted for the lag!! I will learn to read Grin

twinmum86 · 27/06/2021 08:55

Thanks @MancyNitford - our closest is currently 14 miles away so I won't risk that before the 8 weeks.
I have seen the more local one offering walk in occasionally so I'll keep an eye on the Facebook page

LivinLaVidaLoki · 27/06/2021 09:54

Sorry to hear about your mum @EasterIssland

Thanks for the good wishes @Bordois

In non covid related good news, I discovered yesterday that I have dropped a dress size somewhere.....didn't even realise til I went to buy pyjamas in Primark and found I needed a medium when I've always been a large at least in there.....

LivinLaVidaLoki · 27/06/2021 09:55

Just seen on another thread someone saying that half of all 18 to 30 year olds have now had a first dose, so still a long long way to go. Is it just me who thinks that half is actually incredible?!

TruelyonelastSchlep · 27/06/2021 10:34

You are right half considering we have only just opened up to over 18 is wonderful

Also this group are more likely to have had covid before. Which means some with one jab and a previous infection are likely to be very well protected.

If you have had the infection is it only one dose ? Friend of mine had it in nov and has had both so I assumed they were giving 2.
