Terrified of vaccine. I keep cancelling it

Just that. I am so so terrified of the vaccine side effects!

I have posted under this name before regarding my extreme phobia of vomiting/sickness. I have had CBT twice, which hasn’t worked (clearly). Looking into hypnotherapy but it’s just out of my budget at the moment.

How many people have had nausea/vomiting after the vaccine? I would rather people be honest so I can prepare with anti sickness/ginger :( my appointment is now booked for Wednesday and I am determined not to cancel this one...

I know - I sound pathetic!

I had Az - had sore arm at the needle sight for two days and what felt like a very mild hangover the following day. That was it.

Leaveitonthefloordrobe · 13/06/2021 19:53

Pfizer first dose - sore arm and slight lower abdominal cramps the evening of. Felt like mild period pain. May not have been related. No accompanying nausea.

RightOnTheEdge · 13/06/2021 19:54

The first one I had a sore itchy arm for a few days and I felt very tired.

The second one, absolutely no side effects.
I didn't feel sick either time.
No one I know has said they had nausea or been sick after their jab.

Also OP everybody there was very kind and supportive Smile

Benjispruce3 · 13/06/2021 19:55

I’ve had both. No nausea or vomiting.

Benjispruce3 · 13/06/2021 19:57

Was AZ. 1st one- headache and a bit hot 12 hrs later then fine.2nd- slightly sore arm and nothing else. Was about 4 weeks ago now.

AntiStars · 13/06/2021 20:01

Pfizer no side effects which is odd as I’m pregnant and have had Covid so was expecting some sickness but nothing.

FrancisCross · 13/06/2021 20:05

Pfizer - sore arm, fever which passed within 24 hours. No nausea/vomiting. Good luck OP x

User1110 · 13/06/2021 20:08

Thanks so much all! It’s so so good to read that very, very few of you had any nausea/vomiting.

I was nervous too as I have ME/CFS, but I had my first Pfizer on Friday and I feel absolutely fine. Everyone working at the vaccination centre was lovely. I am so relieved to have had it.

1forAll74 · 13/06/2021 20:13

Mostly people seem to feel fatigued the day after the jab that's all. The jab does not hurt at all, and is all over and done with very quickly..

Flippanty · 13/06/2021 20:15

I had Pfizer and had nothing apart from sore arm and about 15 minutes of vague sicky feeling the first evening. I am the same in that I loathe feeling nauseous - would rather be anything but nauseous but it was so mild I barely noticed it. In fact I probably only did as I was looking out for symptoms.

buckleten · 13/06/2021 20:21

I had moderna, no effects other than a sore arm for a day. My husband and some other relatives had AZ with no effects whatsoever, and my parents had Pfizer also with no effects. You'll be fine 🙂

AnnaMagnani · 13/06/2021 20:22

Everyone I know had Pfizer - I work in healthcare so we had it v early when Pfizer was all there was.

Sore arms, sore heads or nothing. No-one had nausea or vomiting.

NaughtyPrudence · 13/06/2021 20:29

Pfizer just over a week ago, no nausea or vomiting, not even a slight hint of any. If it helps, I have severe health anxiety and was so worried about my jab, I wrote a will, but it wasn't necessary, I'm absolutely fine!

MissingTheMoonlight · 13/06/2021 20:33

Pfizer. No nausea, just a mild arm ache for 24 hours.
DH had mild cold like symptoms, no nausea.
SIL had mild muscle aches, no nausea.

MissingTheMoonlight · 13/06/2021 20:34

Oh and BTW, when DH had Corona earlier in the year he had extreme nausea and vomiting so IMO the vaccine is the lesser risk

3peassuit · 13/06/2021 20:51

I had the AZ vaccine.

PinkBuffalo · 13/06/2021 20:52

Good luck op! I kept putting mine off I really scared of different places and jabs etc. But my own drs did it and I also have had zero side affects! Had mine Thursday I
And just kept busy at work and the gym and I have been absolutely fine.
I am sure you will be fine too 🙂

saraclara · 13/06/2021 20:54

I had really bad chills etc after AZ, but I don't know anyone who's had nausea or vomiting after any of the vaccines. And friends and family have had AZ, Pfizer and Moderna.

Drowninginwashing · 13/06/2021 21:17

I forgot to say, but I did too with the virus itself. I was sick every time my temperature peaked or if i tried to get up out of bed. It was awful especially with a toddler to look after. Definitely the vaccine is a much better bet!
Oysterbabe · 13/06/2021 21:20

I don't know anyone who has had nausea or vomiting as a side effect.

Mumof3girlsandaboy · 13/06/2021 21:25

I had AZ first dose I had temperature, sore arm and body aches
I had my 2nd dose on Thursday and no side effects

CimCardashian · 13/06/2021 21:28

Pfizer….. no side effects apart from sore arm after the 2nd one.

I don’t know anyone who’s had nausea.

WeWantTheFinestWines · 13/06/2021 21:32

I vaccinate people, and when it's their second jab I ask them about side effects of the first one. Both AZ and Pfizer. Not one person has said vomiting. Not one.

Bryonyshcmyony · 13/06/2021 21:34

Our family has had a mix of Pfizer and AZ and although there have been various side effects, nausea and vomiting haven't featured at all
