Why aren’t they wearing them?!
@ZZTopGuitarSolo U.K. citizens are not even allowed to step foot in the US, whereas US citizens can come here, albeit that they have to quarantine.
Not quite true Bunsy. UK citizens can come to the US on business visas.

Students have been able to come since last July on student visas.

There are various other exemptions too.

ZZTopGuitarSolo · 12/06/2021 17:07

BTW I would love to see the US borders opening up to fully vaccinated travellers from the UK. We have the Delta variant here already, and we are tackling it by fully vaccinating as many people as possible as quickly as possible.

At this point I don't think allowing fully vaccinated and tested tourists and family members from the UK and Europe would increase the spread of Covid here in the US.

I'd like to see the same happening in the UK too.

Care home and domiciliary workers in England,
most double jabbed, tested many times a week in multiple ways, use 5 different types of PPE, most their clients are double jabbed --

are getting told off for having 5 minute cigarette breaks together, told that's too risky.

I guess what they do isn't adequate "work" .

RaspberryCoulis · 12/06/2021 17:59

This argument that "well masks OBVIOUSLY work because surgeons wear them" is just ludicrous.

Because cutting someone open and breathing all over their internal organs for potentially hours is exactly the same as sitting in an office with someone isn't it? Or being outside on a beach or balcony with them?

BonnieDundee · 12/06/2021 18:22

Wuhan, can you point out where I'm lying? Am pretty sure I haven't lied

To all those who.say.that the hospital bit is relevant I am nowhere near any clinical areas. It is just an office to all intents and purposes

BonnieDundee · 12/06/2021 18:27

@RaspberryCoulis

Precisely. Although I love the thought that a surgeon conducting an invasive procedure can be compared with someone picking up a pizza from Tesco Grin

Malteser71 · 12/06/2021 18:40

Actually I think there was a study that says that surgical masks in an operating theatre are effective for about 12 minutes.

This was pre-covid.

DH works in ITU. They have proper masks for covid patients. He’s fond of quoting that study because he thinks the whole mask thing is a bit ludicrous

m0therofdragons · 12/06/2021 18:43

I’d expect them all to have had pcr tests before attending and lateral flow testing plus 100% vaccinated so risk will be minimal.

BonnieDundee · 12/06/2021 20:56

@WuhanClanAintNothingToFuckWith

@BonnieDundee

I have been wearing a mask in my office (in a hospital)

&In a hospital.*
IN A HOSPITAL.

Why did you put that in brackets? It’s the most important part of your sentence! If YOU don’t understand WHY you are having to wear a mask IN A HOSPITAL, whether that’s an office, or selling butties, or security, or cleaning IN A HOSPITAL ...

Then you should not be even your job. You should be sacked immediately you numpty.

You should not be doing your job.

@BonnieDundee

You are lying. Don’t lie.

Infuriating. Don’t tell lies to fulfill a political agenda

You okay hun? Grin

@WuhanClanAintNothingToFuckWith could you maybe clarify what lies you think I'm telling?

SimonJT · 13/06/2021 16:47

G7 but not mask related.

Airforce 1 just flew overhead!

Againstmachine · 13/06/2021 16:58

@RaspberryCoulis

This argument that "well masks OBVIOUSLY work because surgeons wear them" is just ludicrous.*

It is they dont realise these are sterile rooms with different air pressures and levels of oxygen pumped through them amongst other things but keep focusing on it.

WuhanClanAintNothingToFuckWith · 13/06/2021 17:04

@BonnieDundee

To all those who.say.that the hospital bit is relevant I am nowhere near any clinical areas. It is just an office to all intents and purposes

Do you never see another single person at work in the hospital office? People who might see another single person or people. Who might see another person there. Do you not breathe there? Do you not touch anything, use the break facilities, toilets? Are you virtually there in spirit only, but not in person?

The fact that I had to even type this, is why I thought (hoped) you were lying.

WuhanClanAintNothingToFuckWith · 13/06/2021 17:06

Do you not believe there is a virus or something?

There is only one being politcial here and it's you

You aren't behaving very intelligent, and Seem to put words in people's mouths.

BonnieDundee · 13/06/2021 17:39

There you go again accusing me of lying @WuhanClanAintNothingToFuckWith I supoose it's a full 24 hours since you last accused me of lying

Just like you did yesterday. But when I came back and asked you to clarify what lie i was supposed to have told you mysteriously vanished. So can you now, since you have accused.me twice of lying please specify which lie it is that I am supposedly guilty of?

You are repeatedly attacking me just because I don't agree with you. I will leave everyone to their own opinions of you but will not be interracting you again
