Has anyone under 50 been able to move 2nd jab fwd online?

Hi

I gave my 2nd jab booked in for late June- exactly 11 weeks after my 1st one. Booked via nhs site. I'm 47.

I want to bring it forward a week as I'm due to travel for essential work to an EU country 2 weeks after that and I'm hearing that entry may be conditional on having had both jabs at least 2 weeks previously. Plus my employer has advised this and I'd like to be as safe as poss.

119 told me the booking system which they and the public use will not allow the under 50s to book a 2nd jab less than 11 weeks after the 1st. But the 119 Adviser told me anecdotally he knows of some under 50s who have managed to book less than 11 weeks apart on the system- said he thinks there may be a glitch for some people?

I'm just worried about cancelling my 2nd jab and not being able to rebook one sooner than the one I've got at 11 weeks- has anyone tried this?

@ArseInTheCoOpWindow

I’m 57. I couldn’t move mine, and not have l heard anything from the NHS despite Boris telling me they would be in touch.
Did the website not offer you different dates to the one you had cancelled?

Straight after l wrote that, l had a text from my doctor. I’m booked in on Thursday.

I'm 55 and I had my first with my GP surgery and all the messages on their website homepage say to wait to be contacted for the 2nd.

It's now Week 9 for me, but heard nothing. Checked booking website and could have it done at a local pharmacy tomorrow!
Should I just book it?

How do they know which vaccines to have/ give though?

Yes just book it. Your first injection is linked to your NHS account so it will know what you should have, I think?

When you go online to book jabs now it says you should booked your second within 8-12 weeks of your first. Which seems to imply everyone now can get their second jab in that timeframe!

Yes @Whippet, just book it on the national booking site. When you get a text from your GP, you can book it there and check if there is a better date for you as the 2 systems are independent. Just don't forget to cancel the other one :-)

Just moved my DH's from 12 weeks to 8 weeks. Very easy on the website, tonnes of appointments available for AZ and will be good to have him all done.
