Absolutely sick of hearing about the variants. We’ve got the Indian, now there’s the Yorkshire. Had the South African, the Brazilian, the Kent. Each supposedly deadlier and able to wipe out younger people than the lastHmm
Before that it was long covid. Before that it was causing PIMs inthe dc (never amounted to anything but it was scary news for a few weeks.)
So now variants have been there done that, what’s going to scare and depress us next?

I've been living in an avian flu quarantine area in recent months Grin
countrygirl99 · 21/05/2021 18:21

Tbh I've been more worried about avian flu and equine herpes virus than I have about Covid.

Allmyarseandpeggymartin · 21/05/2021 18:22

A steep rise in STD’s as we all party on Grin

My money is on a study which proves that covid has negative effects on sperm production.

I expect this to occur if vaccine uptake amongst the under forties foesn't hit at least 60%.

Idiots like you.

If ONLY covid selectively impacted the stupid, the problem would completely solve itself.

Yep

Climate change.
A slow death, or one where your children’s lives are miserable, doesn’t really fixate the mind.

You need something catchy.

I mean. That would be fantastic news.

Covid combating climate change at both ends.

Long Covid has a bit more mileage before they’re totally through with it. Always a favourite with independent sage and their ilk.

TheKeatingFive · 21/05/2021 19:21

X post 😆

Also there are about 16m eligible under 40s in England.

4.6m as of 16th May have been vaccinated. Probably another 0.5m since then.

Over 30%. You’ll be at 60% in no time. Just saying.

“CASES ARE RISING.” Of course they are you fucking dimwit - but now people have had vaccines they aren’t dying

PMSL. LOVE IT!!!!

climate change
economic depression
war
a new type of bread not yet invented

QuentininQuarantino · 21/05/2021 20:22

Whatever it is it’ll be the fault of foreign people and/or people going on holiday.

CirqueDeMorgue · 21/05/2021 20:23

NIPAH!

lljkk · 21/05/2021 21:03

Faded immunity, or whatever is technical term. How long does jab protect you for vs. how long does immunity after wild infection protect you for.

Long Covid, of course.

Covid certificates required to go to work in your old office.
public branding on foreheads if you refuse the jab

Tonnes still, really.

Have you not yet stumbled across the news articles about the black fungus epidemic in India that is causing concern - linked to covid. The next thing to be fearful of...

lightand · 21/05/2021 21:46

Covid found in dogs.

Flowerclock · 21/05/2021 21:51

Covid found in dogs.
We've had that already. Or was it cats?

I'm waiting for a good old zombie apocalypse.

Or another royal event. That will clog up the news and grind the county to a halt for a few weeks.

Needanewhat · 21/05/2021 22:03

My sister has long covid. She's 25 and hasn't been able to work since last June. She's so depressed that I worry daily about her taking her own life.

Seeing long covid being sneered at on this thread had distressed me so much I don't even know what to say tbh.
