So after making many threads adamant I wasn't going to have the second jab, I went ahead and did it tonight and am feeling super scared. I will document how I feel. Feeling super scared and I know I will for 3 weeks. Any support is welcome.

@bumblenbean oh yes having a wobble too. Saw the updated figure has gone up to 15. This is precisely why I jumped at taking the vaccine before more figures would come out. I knew if I saw more being added to the second dose I would be in bits again.

What does the professor mean? He mentions 8 but the government website mentioned 15 from the second dose. Is he saying they're not causal? Possibly that they would have happened regardless of the second dose?

This is a new vaccine ofcourse and things keep evolving but you know what, I still feel happy I took it. If I didn't get risk of covid would have eaten me up so it's no win win so the jab seemed better.

I am getting anxious too but let's try and be proactive. We can walk more to keep the circulation going. Drink more water and try and stay calm too. Obviously if we have any symptoms we should seek help straight away. @bumblenbean have you had any symptoms? This is day 4 for me now and so far no symptoms. I really do hope it stays like that or I know I'll start panicking!

Hello! I was tired and a bit achey for the first two days but otherwise fine. Though every twinge and minor pain is immediately a red flag 🤣 I just want to fast forward time!

I know what you mean - I had an urge to just get it done before more figures emerged. It’s worrying but still a tiny number out of 9 million doses given.

I think he’s just saying he’s not certain that the second dose ones are true VITTs as he hasn’t seen the evidence that they all contained the necessary elements like low platelets. It’s frustrating that the MHRA are releasing such limited info - it’s like they drop these alarming numbers and then ignore requests for more details eg ages of people, what day they got the clot, if they’ve fully recovered etc. Feels like we’re being kept in the dark a bit which is pretty unforgivable given how worrying it is for many.

whataballbag · 20/05/2021 18:13

Is it 4 weeks panic zone or is it usually less?

NicoleKidmanSuperFan · 20/05/2021 18:22

I started to not give a hoot today until I saw the figures. However, I'm still trying to be calm. Hopefully second dose is still fine and not too worrying. What is the panic zone for the second zone? Same for the first?

Hang in there everyone! We can do this !

That's what I thought, I'm sure I read somewhere it was less but I've read THAT MUCH it all sort of melds into one
NicoleKidmanSuperFan · 21/05/2021 07:19

Feeling okay today, a bit of tension around the head but I think it's because I slept wrong. Will have some paracetamol. @bumblenbean how are you feeling today?

OP posts:
NicoleKidmanSuperFan · 22/05/2021 12:35

@bumblenbean are you okay ? I'm having a wobble today for some reason. Don't know if I'm thinking too much but have weird zappy type sensations in my head today Confused

OP posts:
bumblenbean · 22/05/2021 12:54

Hello! I feel a bit weird too, don’t think it’s the jab but of course it’s making me paranoid. Just feel really tired and sort of fuzzy headed. Really struggled to focus on work yesterday and can’t seem to really get up and go for some reason. Could be any number of things! I actually had a blood test yesterday for something entirely unrelated and the results came back same day (amazingly!) and I checked the platelets and was relieved they were normal...

Time is going very, very slowly Grin

NicoleKidmanSuperFan · 22/05/2021 13:38

@bumblenbean could it be that we're focusing on it too much? I keep concentrating on my vision like an idiot. Good news about the blood test! That would really reassure me. I'm sure we're okay. Nice to have support during a wobble though!

OP posts:
bumblenbean · 22/05/2021 14:04

Oh definitely, I’m totally overly tuned into every sensation! It’s driving me mad although to be fair I’m sort of used to it with my constant anxiety.

I’m one week today, so trying to remind myself I’m a quarter of the way through lol.

I really wish they’d get to the bottom of the second dose cases - are they confirmed cases/ why didn’t they appear first time round? Although in reality I should just step away from social media and news entirely as it’s not really going to help ...

NicoleKidmanSuperFan · 22/05/2021 19:07

@bumblenbean feeling calmer now. Distraction is key. Hope you keep feeling okay Smile

How are you doing now @NicoleKidmanSuperFan?

NicoleKidmanSuperFan · 24/05/2021 00:12

@PastMyBestBeforeDate I'm okay thank you. Had a lovely day out shopping and went to a restaurant after ages with the husband and kids. Bumped into an ex which was awkward too. An overall lovely day.

I felt 'headachy' slightly yesterday and today and then started my period so was relieved to know why the niggles were happening.

Hoping all stays well. How are you doing?

OP posts:
PastMyBestBeforeDate · 24/05/2021 00:25

Good news then (apart from the ex) :)
Ah I'm OK thanks. Happy that people are seeing the stats and powering on to getting out there.

RedcurrantPuff · 24/05/2021 00:53

I’ve had both doses of AZ and have health anxiety. I get it. My first dose was OK but after the second I felt a bit minging for a while. But you know what? A few weeks post second dose I finally feel confident that as things stand that this virus isn’t going to take me from my children. It’s a good feeling and a lot better than focussing on an event that’s unlikely to happen. All the best

NicoleKidmanSuperFan · 24/05/2021 20:45

@RedcurrantPuff thank you for your message. I hope to feel how you're feeling soon too! I feel like I'll feel like that after a few weeks. All the best.

@bumblenbean how are you feeling ? I read a scary story about a woman and the AZ jab today and feeling scared !

OP posts:
NicoleKidmanSuperFan · 26/05/2021 11:17

It was a first dose reaction though.. keep telling myself this! I think I won't relax till 3 weeks have past!

Hi @NicoleKidmanSuperFan - I’m ok- been feeling a bit faint for a week (not due to vaccine I’m sure!) so was speaking to GP today about that and mentioned in passing the anxiety about the jab and she said from her experience with medics, it is largely happening within 7-10 days of the first dose and to those aged between 20-30. I know the official guidance is up to a month, any age, first and second dose etc, but according to her that’s the general pattern.

My anxiety about the clots is still there but a little less ... my general anxiety is still going strong though as now I’m wondering what is causing the faintness and also getting hung up on negative stories about AZ efficacy.

I need to step away from the internet I think 🤣

How are you doing?

NicoleKidmanSuperFan · 27/05/2021 15:35

@bumblenbean I'm sorry to hear you're feeling faint. If your GP says all is well and you're bloods were okay recently too then could it possibly be your anxiety causing you the faintness? I hope you feel better soon!

I'm feeling better today, feeling more upbeat and like myself. Trying not to read into these stories too much but they do pop up a lot. Thank you for the passing on what the GP said about the jab. That's reassuring.

I wouldn't worry about efficacy so much though, I'm sure as time goes on it will show that the AZ is really effective too. Even if it doesn't 60 percent is loads and if I'm mistaken are they not saying it still prevents hospitalisation totally? The flu jab is only 60 percent effective but does quite a good job so hopefully this will be good too.

I know how you feel though, our mind goes on one thing then another. Thank you so much for keeping me posted.

@NicoleKidmanSuperFan

I’m in a same position as this.

I’m absolutely petrified to have my second jab.
It’s booked for tomorrow.
I don’t think I can do it 😭

NicoleKidmanSuperFan · 27/05/2021 17:08

@lollipop10 I totally understand. Please know you're not the only one. A lot of us on here were petrified to have the second one too but we went for it. Keep thinking in your head that it's crazily low risk with the second and that even if the worst happens (which it wouldn't as its soooo unlikely) that they can treat it better.

Second jab seems so much more easier after, less side effects = less worrying about everything single thing.

@NicoleKidmanSuperFan

I honestly can’t. 😭

I want to so badly but I know I will spend the next 4 weeks in complete panic and I’m not sure id be able to cope.

NicoleKidmanSuperFan · 27/05/2021 17:40

@lollipop10 I actually thought that too. That the aftermath will be harder. I kid you not the minute you have the jab and take it hour by hour it gets easier and easier. You can do it! Remind yourself it's important to have it as covid cases are getting higher. You can do it !!

NicoleKidmanSuperFan · 29/05/2021 13:29

So I had a major **ing wobble yesterday. Weird eye pain and headache and started to see white. Cue panic and a full on panic attack leading me to think I was going to die that minute. Ended up in a and e where they ran bloods and said definitely no clots.
The whole ordeal took 5 hours to calm down. The drs said all vitals are good, platelets good so not concerned. Didn't help though that I still felt like absolute crap. Thankfully today a little better but not 100 percent. First dr said it could be the body adjusting to the jab and the other dr said it's anxiety.
To a more annoying note my urea was a bit high and neutrophils which they said was borderline and of not significance, not even a follow up. They insisted my bloods were very healthy but Ofcourse now I'm going to shit it until they are retested (requested by me). @bumblenbean how are you feeling now?
I still don't regret the jab though but this anxiety is horrible horrible horrible. I've never had a panic attack before and I really hope this isn't the start.
