So after making many threads adamant I wasn't going to have the second jab, I went ahead and did it tonight and am feeling super scared. I will document how I feel. Feeling super scared and I know I will for 3 weeks. Any support is welcome.

Hope you're still feeling good @NicoleKidmanSuperFan

I'm seriously considering the second now, as I work in Blackburn! Lucky me

SpeedRunParent · 18/05/2021 21:42

Just take some paracetamol and get over yourself.

SpeedRunParent · 18/05/2021 21:51

Perhaps I should be less blunt and say that all this attention you are getting is just going to fuel your next anxiety flare-up.
It's all very well getting a hand-hold but endless threads about one run-of-the-mill matter with blow-by-blow commentary on your after effects is just going to wind other anxiety prone people up and it's just enabling your anxiety.

Aren't you just a charmer

I agre, actually. Op has already said she won't discuss it with friends who have "zero anxiety". That's not healthy.
penni00 · 18/05/2021 22:26

Hang in there OP, ignore the above!!! I have anxiety, and am glad to read your posts and offer support as best I can because I understand.

AppleJane · 18/05/2021 22:33

@GreyhoundG1rl that's not quite what the OP said.

They said:

I have friends with zero anxiety having anxiety over this whole jab and pandemic situation. Maybe even more so as I'm used to having anxiety but for them it seems almost as if the pandemic has triggered something new for them.

Which I took to mean even people they know who aren't usually anxious ordinarily are anxious about jabs.

You are correct. Apologies, op, I completely misread your post.

NicoleKidmanSuperFan · 19/05/2021 07:33

Feeling fine today. No side effects at all this time around. Hope everyone is having a good day.

If it’s about blood clots, hope this helps

Glad you’re feeling ok - long may it continue!

MoonlightFlitwick · 19/05/2021 08:26

Well done for having it, how brave are you?!

Pyewackect · 19/05/2021 08:38

Jeeze, get over yourself.

NicoleKidmanSuperFan · 19/05/2021 09:20

Thanks everyone who has supported me on here. To those of you saying 'get over yourself' I hope you don't ever experience overwhelming anxiety that sees no logic at times and I'm surprised that you haven't come across it in life. In most families there tends to be an anxious member and anxiety isn't so uncommon. I mean lucky you if you have never had it or had a child or partner with it. Wish I could say the same but myself and my mother are anxious people and I really do feel like this is brushed under the carpet.
It's okay though, you do you, I'll do me and whatever gets me through.

trevthecat · 19/05/2021 09:30

Well done for getting the second jab. To settle your mind a little more, there have been no cases of blood clots after the second dose of az

AppleJane · 19/05/2021 10:50

That's not true @trevthecat there have been cases but not many.

penni00 · 19/05/2021 11:10

Hooray, all going well for you:)
Anxiety does not make a bad person, in fact most anxious people are extra sensitive not just about themselves but also then to other people. This leads to empathy, something that seems to be missing from some of the posters on here. (I am sad for them).
Would rather have an anxious person as a friend than a person incapable of empathy.
Hooray also to anxious, brilliantly empathetic people!

NicoleKidmanSuperFan · 19/05/2021 15:14

@penni00 I totally love everything you wrote. It's so true. Maybe if I didn't have anxiety I also would never understand myself and other's situations. I wasn't born with anxiety so when I look back at my pre anxious self I sometimes think oh I wish I was still like that. However, in some ways as you say it can be a blessing in that you end up appreciating life a lot too, the everyday things, your health, your happiness and family. Probably because those flare ups makes us think we might die so when we realise we didn't we are overly happy and appreciative Smile

It is something that might not ever go but with the right tools it can be managed. I remember when I saw a psychologist for my anxiety she told me that top CEOs have anxiety and health anxiety far far worse. Doesn't make us incapable people!

NicoleKidmanSuperFan · 19/05/2021 15:15

@trevthecat @AppleJane thanks for the kind words. Yes 8 cases so far, however, they don't say which time and if those were causal? I went and had the jab quickly for this reason ( so I stop looking at the numbers and put myself off).

NicoleKidmanSuperFan · 19/05/2021 15:17

@MoonlightFlitwick thanks! How is everyone today? How many on here are jabbed ? It's interesting to know! Strangely all the pfizer envy has gone now and I'm quite happy with AZ. Reading really good articles about it too.

I've had my first and waiting to be called for the second. I was half convinced the first would kill me, that for some unimaginable reason I would drop down dead as soon as they did it. Am hoping I will be less worried when the second comes.Smile

NicoleKidmanSuperFan · 19/05/2021 21:37

@user19097527484949 amazing!

@MoonlightFlitwick aw well as you can tell I totally understand how worried you were. I really do think it's true about the second though, they're much more uneventful and I honestly even felt like the needle and solution was smallerGrin

bumblenbean · 20/05/2021 16:19

How you feeling OP? I’m having a bit of a wobble after seeing the updated figures. But I did see this and really hope the prof is right and that these might not be true VITT cases

Please hold my hand through second jab!
