Anyone with no vaccination side effects

MyDarlingWhatIfYouFly · 06/05/2021 00:18

I'm booked in to have my first vaccination on Friday (no idea which yet). I get the flu vaccine every year through work and I've never given it a second thought, but I'm irrationally panicking about the Covid one. I think it's mainly around the horrible side effects, and although I know they are usually 24-48 hours and the alternative (Covid itself) would likely be far worse, I can't seem to calm my anxiety.

Is there anyone out there who had few effects (a sore arm I wouldn't worry about!) - I think hearing about all the people who spent 2 days in bed with what felt like the flu is causing me to be anxious. I can't really explain it, it's not like me at all - but I could really do with hearing some positive stories to give me hope that I could be one of the lucky ones!

First dose of AZ two weeks ago. Nothing here other than a sore arm.

UpTheJunktion · 06/05/2021 05:41

AZ, not even a sore arm.

teenagetantrums · 06/05/2021 05:54

Me both phizer no side effects.
DP AZ no side effects.

SofiaAmes · 06/05/2021 05:56

I'm in the US, but had Covid (asymptomatic) in January and the 2 shots (Pfizer) in April and had not a single side effect. Not even a sore arm.

SconesJamthenCream · 06/05/2021 05:56

AZ here, a sore arm was the only side effect. I did take preventative paracetamol beforehand but that was it. Had my first flu jab in October and felt much worse with that.

Goawaymuppet · 06/05/2021 05:58

AZ first dose and nothing but a slightly sore arm.

exLtEveDallas · 06/05/2021 06:05

I’ve had both AZ, no side effects.
DH had Pfizer, just an achy arm
DD had Pfizer, just a sore spot on arm

LongTimeMammaBear · 06/05/2021 06:07

Both DH and I had first dose AZ. I only had a sore arm. DH had no sore arm but had feverish night (man flu to him).

Postern · 06/05/2021 06:07

I had my first Pfizer shot last weekend and absolutely none.

Egghead81 · 06/05/2021 06:11

Absolutely minimal.
Felt a little off
No appetite
24 hours

Egghead81 · 06/05/2021 06:11

And that was Oxford

SquashMinusIsShit · 06/05/2021 06:12

My mum! Not even a sore arm Smile

LadyPenelope68 · 06/05/2021 06:13

My son and I have both had the Pfizer and no side effects at all. Although, I had a period a few days after my first one, after not having one for nearly 2 years but I don’t know if that’s linked somehow or not!

allthegoodusernameshavegone · 06/05/2021 06:16

I’ve had Pfizer, both jabs no side effects at all not even a sore arm.

mummabubs · 06/05/2021 06:17

I had two doses of the Pfizer vaccine back in January and March - no side effects at all. (Interestingly I get the flu jab every year as I'm a healthcare worker and always feel absolutely rotten for a few days afterwards without fail, by comparison the Covid vaccine was the best experience of vaccines I've ever had!)

Donteatpurplebroccoli · 06/05/2021 06:20

I had the Pfizer sore arm both times, lasted 2 days first jab and 3 days second, most people I know have only had minor side effects more people seem to have had cold like symptoms to AZ but still not been too bad! Hope you’re ok and hopefully even if you do have some side effects you’ll feel psychologically better for knowing you’ve had it! I definitely did!

Elmo230885 · 06/05/2021 06:56

I had Az almost 10 wks ago and had zero side effects. I was the same, worrying before I had it as lots of people had spoken about horrible side effects. I guess people talk more about negatives!

MRex · 06/05/2021 07:07

My parents and FIL (all Pfizer). I was basically fine (AZ), mild headache on days 4-5 that went with water and paracetamol. DH doesn't know yet as was jabbed yesterday (AZ); currently he suspects someone punched him in the arm and that's all.
Important to drink lots of water to avoid a headache; we were both advised that, but I guess I stopped on day 4. BIL (AZ) grumble-moaned about headache and dizziness that went after we suggested drinking a pint of water.

DDiva · 06/05/2021 07:13

Me so far. Had the az yesterday 3.30pm drank plenty of water yesterday and feel fine this morning, not even really a sore arm. Bit tired cos I woke in the night worried about feeling ill today ! Still time I guess but so far so good.

MyDarlingWhatIfYouFly · 06/05/2021 07:40

So glad I asked the question - it's so true that you only really hear about the bad experiences.

Had both Pfizer jabs and no side effects at all (not even a sore arm).

bigbluebus · 06/05/2021 07:46

DH has now had both his Pfizer jabs and had no side effects from either - apart from slightly sore arm. I've had my 1st Astra Zeneca and had no side effects either. I've been working at a vaccine centre and we are currently doing 2nd jabs. I've heard lots of people say they were fine after their 1st one.

Badbadbunny · 06/05/2021 07:46

None at all,not even a sore arm.

FrankieFox · 06/05/2021 07:50

“Horrible” is a strong word! People say “flu-like” symptoms as a catch-all term but that doesn’t mean it’s like having actual flu. After my first jab I was achy and feverish but I took paracetamol and the next morning I was fine. It wasn’t the best day ever but it wasn’t horrible . Covid, on the other hand...

Jasharps · 06/05/2021 07:52

Me, DH, 3 sets of parents 40s, 60s and 70s. Mix of AZ and Pfizer (I had Pfizer).

No side effects except sore arm
