Who’s felt like shit after the vaccine?

I’ve got mine next week and all I keep hearing is how awful people have felt after getting it. I really can’t afford to be ill or take time off at the moment. It’s actually making me want to cancel. Tell me it’s not that bad!

Had my jab last Saturday so wasn't expecting for this to hit at this point.

RUOKHon · 12/05/2021 16:59

I had mine on Saturday 8th and I still feel awful. Have had fever and aching and yesterday the diarrhoea started. When will I be over this? Really starting to wish I’d never had it.

Someone said, a bad hangover and like you've been dancing all night and I agree with that.
I needed paracetamol and ibbroprufen

Figgygal · 12/05/2021 17:13

I had mine today
Had no concerns about it until I did a straw poll on an Internet group im on and everyone on it who had had their vaccine had a symptom of some sort ranging from a sore arm to being ill for days.
It didn’t put me off but it definitely made me more wary about it so now I’m just waiting and seeing with fingers crossed

I felt poorly after the first dose. In bed for one day and then horrible sweats for two weeks. Second dose was fine

Tumbleweed101 · 12/05/2021 19:23

Had AZ and felt a little like I had a mild hangover the next day. Mild headache, bit tired, bit zoned out but was fine going into work and didn't take any time off.

Legoninjago1 · 12/05/2021 21:31

Nope. I had Pfizer. DH had AZ. Not a single side effect between us. Not even sore arm to speak of. Very happy.

Santastealer · 12/05/2021 21:34

I had Pfizer yesterday and have been fine. Just a sore arm.

DH has had both of his doses of it now and been fine both times.

MrsMackesy · 13/05/2021 10:30

Second dose Pfizer after side effects last time - early days but so far: sore and stiff arm, strange taste, headache, sore throat, aching joints especially toes, fingers and knees, hot and cold, slightly blurred vision, extra-tired.

Pootle40 · 13/05/2021 11:24

No felt like I had a mild hangover the following day and that was it

Whereismymojo · 13/05/2021 13:58

I posted upstream but I hadn’t realised my side effects were going to rage on!

Absolutely fine after the vaccine.
24 hours later, headache & hangover feeling set in. The head and face pain was brutal. It lasted 10 days. I also had a lot of facial twitching/spasms.

Pain relief didn’t actually do anything (I’m very sensitive to pain killers they usually knock me half sideways)

Back to normal now. I am definitely nervous of the second jab.

I had my 2nd Pfizer on Tuesday. Had no side effects with the first one but the second was pretty bad, really heavy all over and a sore arm Tuesday evening. Yesterday my lymph nodes in my armpit swelled up and are still very painful if I move my arm today. Google says it's normal so I'm hoping it passes soon. Am still exhausted too! Glad I got them tho and guessing the lymph nodes thing means my immune system is kicking in somewhat.

SkodaKodiaq · 13/05/2021 14:26

I had horrendous body aches for 2 days

MrsMackesy · 13/05/2021 14:36

Also itching.

artquejtion · 13/05/2021 14:38

I have had one dose of Pfizer, felt nauseous for 24 hours and a horrible headache for 48 hours, a slightly sore arm for a few hours.

Seasidemumma77 · 13/05/2021 14:46

I had AZ on Tuesday morning. Started feeling rough Tuesday evening, felt almost normal today. Honestly delighted/privileged to have received my first jab, know so many in UK and around the world still waiting
