Is this just the norm? I don't know one single person who hasn't had 24-48hrs of feeling rotten? Was booked in for the booster Friday and have cancelled as working fir the following 4 days after- so far everyone has reported fevers, aches and general grottyness (work in healthcare) it's not a problem, but will do it on days off next week instead, just looking for the general consensus

So I had my 2nd Pfizer at 10 am yesterday. Over 24 hours now and the only thing I've had is a very sore arm, like someone had repeatedly punched it. Which is exactly what I had for the first. Phew.

NameChangedForThisFeb21 · 25/03/2021 15:31

Covid Test was negative btw!

ICUNurse · 26/03/2021 23:01

I felt horrendous after my first dose for 36 hours and then went to bed and woke up feeling fine. I’ve had my second dose this morning but feel absolutely fine so far! Interesting how it affects everyone differently.

Harryo · 26/03/2021 23:45

I had a positive covid test last year. I’ve had both jabs and felt rough, then rougher with them for 48 hours.

dontdisturbmenow · 27/03/2021 09:39

Nothing at all after the first, not even a sore arm.

Had the second one on Monday and felt like I'd come down with the flu. Fever, chills, headache, fuzziness and aching all over. Lasted 48 hours. Took me by surprise!

Magi84 · 27/03/2021 09:45

I had a headache for a few hours after first dose and absolutely nothing in the way of a side effect from second one

dontdisturbmenow · 27/03/2021 09:46

Just to add, had loose stools too. Didn't think it was related then but now see others had the same.

I had my second Pfizer on Thursday. My arm is maybe a bit more tender than the first time. I was tired Thursday night but not particularly anymore than normal. I did play it up a bit as it was a good excuse for an early night though, rather than sorting out the dishwasher and kitchen which I left to my husband rather than sharing the chore as normal.

Tobebythesea · 27/03/2021 18:56

I had a very sore arm after the first vaccine and felt rotten like flu for 24 hours after the second.

Robieuni · 27/03/2021 20:39

No symptoms after my first jab.
Had my second jab yesterday morning, felt a bit tired and achey earlier but shook it off after a couple of hours, back to feeling fine now.

HUCKMUCK · 27/03/2021 20:45

I had mine yesterday morning. Very tired and a headache all evening yesterday and all day today.

92 year old mil had hers at the same time and she’s felt absolutely fine!

Merename · 27/03/2021 20:47

I felt yuk 24hrs after my second jag - achy, really tired, when I only had sore arm after first. But nothing horrendous that some paracetamol and early bed couldn’t fix. Although I’m knackered again now on the second day after so side effects not quite gone yet.

DarcyJack · 27/03/2021 20:48

I've had both Pfizer doses and felt bad after the first and quite unwell after the second. I was told I might get a stronger reaction as I have already had covid, but not sure why this would be true.

Annietheacrobat · 27/03/2021 20:54

I felt absolutely awful after second dose. Temp 38.9. Shivering. Started 12 hours after vaccination and lasted for 24 hours in total. Crawled out of bed at 1pm. Several colleagues had similar. I was vaccinated early on so had my second dose 3 weeks after the first.

Saff2015 · 27/03/2021 21:46

I work in a university on a health care based course. All the NHS staff which had the Pfizer jab had no symptoms after either but the students were very ill for a good few days after their second one.
From my experience around here it seems to be age dependent and the younger you are the more likely you are to have side effects.

ChiefBabySniffer · 27/03/2021 21:56

First dose I was absolutely fine, nothing at all. The second dose was on Thursday and artist from being a C little tired ( which could be anything) I am once again fine. Got a giant spot appear on my face which is v unusual but can't say if it's 100% linked 😂

LizzieSiddal · 27/03/2021 21:58

After my first Pfizer jab, I felt so ill. I had total exhaustion for 5 days, felt like I had flu, could barley get up the stairs. Now worried as the second one is supposed to be worse.

yikesanotherbooboo · 27/03/2021 22:24

I felt awful after the second jab. I wasn't working day 1 and wouldn't have been able to but by day 4 I was normal as far as a day's work was concerned.

Dartsplayer · 27/03/2021 22:35

I've only had one dose so far but apart from a sore arm, no side effects whatsoever

QueenOfTheDoubleWide · 27/03/2021 22:51

My colleagues and I have all had both. I had a tender arm after the first and a very sore, red, hot, tender arm after the second. A couple of people felt tired for a couple of days and one had a headache but it went with paracetamol
We must be 'ard!

WiseUpJanetWeiss · 28/03/2021 09:11

First dose, DH and I (50s) both started to feel achy and shivery after about 8 hours, fever dreams all night and then wiped out all the next day. Our arms were very sore. After 36 hours we were fine although I did have a sore armpit and under arm on the injection site for a few days after about a week.

We had our second on Friday. Both of us had very sore arms, and DH has a sore armpit on the injection site.

I felt generally tired and under the weather yesterday but OK this morning. Arm hurts a bit.

DH felt OK for most of yesterday then has been feeling terrible all night. He says he hasn’t slept at all but then recounted some truly bizarre dreams, so I guess he has slept a bit 😁. He’s had breakfast and is pottering around now and talking of taking the dog out, so I think he’ll live.

Both of us are absolutely delighted to have had both doses now.

Theelderscrolls · 28/03/2021 09:14

I felt worse after my first, I had a splitting headache. Fortunately I was on my days off anyway.

2nd time I was just a bit shivery and tired.

Mooey89 · 30/03/2021 20:54

Dh also had his second dose yesterday, absolutely fine.

SD1978 · 31/03/2021 01:01

Just (literally) had my second dose. Interesting as all the staff in my department have reported 48hrs of side effects- fevers, aches, etc and yet the lassie at the vax centre said that basically none of them did. Yet all departments are reporting flu type symptoms and sickleave.
