Is this just the norm? I don't know one single person who hasn't had 24-48hrs of feeling rotten? Was booked in for the booster Friday and have cancelled as working fir the following 4 days after- so far everyone has reported fevers, aches and general grottyness (work in healthcare) it's not a problem, but will do it on days off next week instead, just looking for the general consensus

Didn't have a headache Devi d time round. But it's made my MS flare up, so back on crutches and time off work. But still glad I'm fully vaccinated!

Toddlerteaplease · 24/03/2021 13:27

It's 13 days since my second and still not right.

LotsoTheStrawberryBear · 24/03/2021 13:27

After first dose I had bit of a headache the next after second I was fine. My BIL went on a 10 mile run day after his.
But at work we had 3 people call in sick they were that badly affected, so I cant promise you will be fine!

Shellingbynight · 24/03/2021 13:35

I know two people who have had the Pfizer. One has only had the first dose and had no symptoms. The other has had first and second, no symptoms either time except a sore arm.

mummabubs · 24/03/2021 13:42

Husband and I have both had both Pfizer jabs. For me- nothing at all after number 1 and a noticeably sore arm for 24 hours after number 2. My DH also had nothing at all after dose 1, then after dose 2 he had a sore arm and felt rotten later that evening (he said flu-like) but it came on and left quickly, so he was back to his normal self within 36 hours of having the second dose.

Deadringer · 24/03/2021 16:48

My dh had his 2nd Pfizer jab yesterday, he has had no side affects at all, and he didn't after the first one either.

NameChangedForThisFeb21 · 24/03/2021 16:53

Running a high temp now. Add ice cubes and baby wipes to my emergency list. It’s like having a flu. Can’t even concentrate on telly.

StrawberryPi · 24/03/2021 18:49

I've had 2xpfizer doses. I was fine after the first one although I did need a bit of an early night. After 2nd one I felt rotten for 24hrs but fine the next morning. Real heavy achey bones, really sore joints, super stiff - I felt about 100 years old!

VicSynix · 24/03/2021 19:54

Eeek. Had my second Pfizer this morning, at 10am and now worrying slightly! I have a very sore arm, which was all I had the first time. Might take a couple of paracetamol before I go to bed just in case.

Reinventinganna · 24/03/2021 20:20

I just had a dead arm with my first.
Had second yesterday and had a slightly aching arm yesterday and today but now feeling rough.

Still glad and thankful to have had it though.

RockingMyFiftiesNot · 24/03/2021 20:25

Only person I know who has had both Pfizer vaccinations had side effects with first but nothing at all with the second.

Pfizers side effects happen after the second jab, astrazeneca’s after the first. The difference is in how they trigger the immune response. If you feel like shit try 111 or call your GP for advice
itsmschanandlerbong · 24/03/2021 20:30

I've had 2 doses and all I had was a mild ache in my arm after both.

CosmicComfort · 24/03/2021 20:35

I have felt so exhausted after my second dose. Had itSunday and have just finished 3rd long day. I survived my shifts but have felt achey and so tired. Came home and cried yesterday which is not like me. Didn’t realize how much was the vaccine until today when I feel so much stronger and less tired.

We work on 2 nurses per shift and both I and my RMN colleague for Monday and Tuesday had our 2nd dose Sunday so glad we both made it to work😩

I’m going to do a Covid test in the morning to be on the safe side. I keep coughing and going between fever and chills, aches, tired,
burning sensation in sinus passages, sore throat and glands raised.

I’ve been working from home, exercising indoors and had my shopping delivered so likelihood is it’s just the side effects really affecting me badly but it’s best to know. I feel dreadful. Still glad I had the vaccine though.

Smashedavacado · 24/03/2021 23:15

@NameChangedForThisFeb21 I don't think I had such supplies on hand when we all had covid at Xmas!
Due my second Pfizer on Saturday - hoping you're an exception as had no reaction to the first.
Hope you're feeling better soon & that the test is negative.

MajesticWhine · 24/03/2021 23:50

I had my 2nd Pfizer. I felt horrible for about a day. Starting about 10 hours after. I had a headache and body aches and had to have a little lie down. I wasn't working next day thankfully. Even so I probably wouldn't have called in sick. It wasn't that bad.

NameChangedForThisFeb21 · 25/03/2021 09:07

So update...

Was dreadfully ill last night, could barely move and very flu like, fever, chills, dry cough. Took paracetamol and ibuprofen right before bed. Slept right through no problems.

Woke up this morning, aches, sinus pain and cough gone, arm not even sore. Only symptoms now are a sore stomach and loose stools (sorry if tmi!).

So fingers crossed the worst is over 48 hours post vaccine.

CommanderBurnham · 25/03/2021 09:14

Had mine on Monday. Still feeling exhausted and a little achy. My arm is still sore.

Worse than the first jab but it severe. Just taking a few more breaks.

Mooey89 · 25/03/2021 09:15

I had my second dose on Monday and felt absolutely fine with both, just a sore arm.

Onedayatatime43 · 25/03/2021 09:18

Husband had his second Pfizer one yesterday. He’s perfectly fine other than a slightly tender arm. He had absolutely nothing after the first one.

nolongersurprised · 25/03/2021 09:46

I had my second on Monday, sore arm on Tuesday. On Wednesday morning I was overall fine and at work but having mild sweats and I had diarrhoea later that night (sorry). Fine all day today- worked and did normal things.

PeachesandCream2020 · 25/03/2021 10:15

I had my 2nd yesterday afternoon. Last night I felt so tired and my arm was sore. This was the same for the 1st jab too.

I’ve woke up this morning and my face feels really hot and I’m a bit achy and tired. I’m hoping with paracetamol it helps. I’m just about to do 4 nights on shift so not the best timing. My arm was really sore through the night, I couldn’t lie on it. My head feels a bit fuzzy too like I’ve drank a bottle of wine last night!

MiniTheMinx · 25/03/2021 10:44

I had aching all over with the first. The second I had aches, and a bit of a headache. Felt tired after both. But the injection site is still very red now. Haven't felt quite normal ever since the second jab. After the first I tested positive for Covid 5 days later. Its all so confusing. Long covid after very very mild covid? Something in the jab? who knows!

Undervaluedandsad · 25/03/2021 10:45

I felt worse with the first one. 2nd was fine.
