My completely uneventful AZ jab

Had this last week. Didn't feel a thing (tiniest needle ever) and apart from a slightly sore arm for a couple of days nothing. I'm not exactly the type to eat just veges and not drink but then I never get the flu either. A complete non event for anyone that wants to hear that precisely nothing happened. Can't wait to not even notice the 2nd one too!

Had mine yesterday morning and had no symptoms apart from a sore arm later that night. If it wasn't for my arm I would be doubting it ever happened. Felt a bit of a fraud when DH brought me breakfast in bed this morning but I soon got over it Grin

I had mine earlier, early 50's. Barely felt the jab so was impressed, I'm running a little warm but have taken paracetamol and feel fine. Glad to have had the first dose.

SwedishEdith · 21/03/2021 15:44

I read that article about people's different reactions and felt quite affronted Grin

I would say I'm definitely not "one of those people that always feels terribly ill if you have a cold or flu". But, after having it yesterday afternoon and feeling fine when I went to bed, I woke up shivering and shaking at about 04:00. And I'd taken Night Nurse before I went to bed a s precaution. Then hot and now tired, achey legs and feeling dozy. If today was a Monday, I'd have called in sick and I hardly ever have sick leave.

I don't get man flu either. In fact don't often get ill. I felt quite rubbish the day after the vax though. I'm just bloody delighted to have had it though so don't care if prof whatsisface thinks I get man flu. I don't think he is saying people who get man flu are exaggerating though like we usually think. I think he's saying some people's immune system runs hotter which causes the stronger symptoms.

AlpiniPraline · 21/03/2021 17:12

I'm not a man anyway Grin

Late 50s and had mine yesterday. Very sore arm and feel generally limp today, but no other side effects. Am so pleased to have had it!

PusheenLove · 21/03/2021 18:14

38 here and terrible side effects

whatisforteamum · 21/03/2021 18:31

Pusheenlove what did you have side effects wise.love the username.

SophieB100 · 21/03/2021 18:40

I had mine on Thursday, and had awful side effects too. Thumping headache, chills/sweats, general lethargy and cotton wool legs. Only started to pick up this afternoon.
Was planning on going to work Friday, but couldn't get out of bed without feeling dizzy.
I think that's why Boris had his late on Friday, so he had the weekend to recover.
I'm pretty sure I had covid last March, and having read that if you have had it, you can get worse side effects, I wonder if this is why I felt so rough.

I usually cope well with illness - in the good old days I'd plod on with a stinking cold, infection. Takes a lot for me to take to my bed. But that's where I've been for 3 days.

BigButtons · 21/03/2021 18:40

The worst of it is over for me ( jab noon last thursday) but I am utterly exhausted. I feel ok when sitting or lying but as soon as I walk around my legs still feel like jelly and I feel very speed out. I had to call in sick on Friday and I'm worried that I will have to do so again tomorrow.

2021Vision · 21/03/2021 18:40
  1. Had it yesterday afternoon. Didn't even feel the needle. Felt ok last night, slept well. Woke up ok this morning, went for long walk. Felt unbelievably tired this arvo and arm feeling a bit sore and heavy, have slept for 4 hours. Having a glass of red wine, medicinal puposes you understand Wink
Ggeemerc · 21/03/2021 18:41

54 here. The first night me and dh had temperatures and banging headaches, wiped out. On 2nd day now and still ill. Hoping it will go by the morning. Neither of us really get colds much usually.

SophieB100 · 21/03/2021 18:47

@BigButtons
I had mine Thursday lunch time - I hope if I can get a good night's sleep tonight I'll be able to work tomorrow - I haven't slept since midnight Thursday (12 hours post jab), and am exhausted too. I feel brighter in myself, but still weak, when I try to do anything. I know how you feel Flowers

BigButtons · 21/03/2021 18:52

@SophieB100 I hope you recover soon too. I feel a real wimp- I never take to my bed Flowers

Benjispruce2 · 21/03/2021 19:23

Had mine today. Felt nothing. 6 hrs in and ok so far.

Benjispruce2 · 22/03/2021 16:18

Well I had a rough night. Fever and a banging headache so it got me eventually! Paracetamol sorted me out. Much better now.

hiredandsqueak · 22/03/2021 17:50

I similarly had a rough night but feel pretty much recovered this evening. The strangest thing was my ankle that I have broken previously was throbbing when I rarely notice it. Thankfully paracetamol sorted me out.
