Is anyone booking a 2022 holiday?

My poor children are desperate to have something to look forward to.

Has anyone booked?

Yes. If there are no holidays by 2022 then the travel industry will go under to be frank.

Anon778833 · 16/03/2021 08:54

I’m wondering about the possibility of paying £3k for a quarantine hotel afterwards?

OP posts:

I highly doubt that will still be a thing in 2022 to be honest.

Bazookapie · 16/03/2021 08:57

Yes we have! One in March and one in June. Flights for both were covered by refunds from cancelled flights last year and both sets of accommodation have a good cancellation policy.

@Waxonwaxoff0

Wake up and smell that coffee.

Ermmm no - I'm not booking a holiday yet.

I know someone who is retraining as a teacher, after being made redundant (along with a lot of other colleagues), from an upmarket long distance travel agency.

Sadly, I think some firms are already going down.

Llh1979 · 16/03/2021 09:10

I have 😁
It was cancelled for 2020 so moved to 2021 and that's been cancelled again so rebooked for 2022
3rd time lucky we will get our holiday

Roselilly36 · 16/03/2021 09:26

No I don’t think it’s worth booking at the moment, unless you are prepared to pay for testing, possible quarantine on return etc. Personally, I won’t bother with holidays or meals out at all until restrictions are lifted.

Changeismyname · 16/03/2021 09:28

UK based, yes. Abroad? Not thinking about it yet.

frozendaisy · 16/03/2021 09:35

Not yet we fancy Greece in autumn but waiting until we are vaccinated.

Frazzled2207 · 16/03/2021 10:51

I'm optisimistic and have August 2021 booked!!! I suspect it will all become doable again sometime later this year, not convinced it will be before August but if we can't travel by 2022 then frankly we're buggered indefinitely

Loopyloututu2 · 16/03/2021 10:53

We have a U.K. holiday booked for july this year and I’m very confident it’ll go ahead. Why wouldn’t you book one for this year (U.K.) if the company offers a refund anyway?

Anon778833 · 16/03/2021 10:54

I wouldn’t book with anywhere not mainstream but presumably if it’s ATOL protected it should be fine. All those of us able to will have had the vaccine.

Sorry I should have said in my op that I mean holidays abroad.

I’ve got one booked for this year. If I’m allowed to go I will be! 😄

@Roselilly36 - why?! Life will be so boring! If this year has taught us anything it’s surely to grasp what we can in enjoyment!

My diary from May onwards is getting nice & busy again. Theme parks, short breaks, small birthday parties, couple zoo trips. Centre Parks. Outdoor kids activities in summer. Holiday. Girls night away to a spa child free. I’m so excited. And fully prepared that it may not all happen but it’s there & booked if it can be. I’m not telling my children about most of it just yet. I can deal with disappointment, them less so. Nearer the time when things are more certain, I will.

Wellbythebloodyhell · 16/03/2021 11:07

I've got one booked for October 2021

Anon778833 · 16/03/2021 11:09

Yeah, I think we all need something to look forward to. What’s the point of life if you don’t make any plans?

Weallfloatdownhere · 16/03/2021 11:10

Haven't booked anything yet, but pretty confident will be going abroad later this year. Will book last-minute and have time off work allocated already for July and October.

Figgygal · 16/03/2021 11:10

Booked turkey for may 2022

Sallycinnamum · 16/03/2021 11:19

Booked flights for august and october this year and for May 2022.

These are Easyjet flights we've rolled over from last year. All to the Balearics.

I'm slightly doubtful we'll get away in August although my family who live in Spain say there are talks about the air corridor being reinstated so we won't need to shell out for quarantine hotel on our return although we'll have to quarantine at home I expect.

JengaNonConfirming · 16/03/2021 11:32

Nothing booked for 2022, yet, but 2 booked for later this year! Very glad to have something to look forward to and feeling quite positive Grin
