I’m really sorry to start another thread but I’m panicking.

After much debate (due to severe anxiety) I had my Covid vaccine this morning.

I was given the AZ / Oxford.

Had it at 8.30am and by 4pm I had a slight headache.

6pm I started with shivers. Felt really cold and my back feels sensitive to touch.

I feel really hot but I’m cold. My temp is 37.4

I’m so anxious. I’ve considered calling 111, which I know, is ridiculous, but I suffer with such awful anxiety and I’m convincing myself something bad is going to happen to happen to me 😢😢

I’ve spent the majority of last year in and out of different therapies for anxiety and OCD all because of my health anxiety.

I’m really struggling. 😞

Thank you. Temp has stayed down. Really hope it stays that way!

Still feeling tired, achy and nauseous. 🙁

You are supposed to have a temperature. That is the entire point. A fever is your body's strongest immune response. That's what you are trying to do with a vaccine. Provoke a response from your immune system. Its actually a better sign than not having one.

Hope you're feeling better, tick off the hours and visualise the hours getting less and less with the side effects lessening too

@justanothername2 hope you get a good nights sleep and tomorrow is a better day x

Alienchannell21 · 13/03/2021 21:03

What you're describing is your body's natural response. The younger/ healthier your immune system is the more your immune system will fight against it. This is normal. All the younger people I know (under 40) had much worse side effects than the older people. I hope you're feeling better soon. I get mine next week.

38.1 C is a pretty mild temperature elevation in an adult. It's only just into the fever range.

How are you this morning? I crashed out about lunchtime yesterday and napped on the sofa all afternoon and went to bed a teatime. Had a bit of a headache as well. I've woken up feeling a lot better though and hoping that's it for me.

So much better! ☺️

Hoping that’s it for me too! 🤞🏻

I took my side effects as a positive, it meant my immune system was triggered by the vaccine & doing what it is supposed to do.
