I've been exercising, reluctantly.
But now spring is here and the end is in sight. I'm going to up exercise and get a grip on my bored snacking so that when summer arrives I feel great and full of energy, and all my summer clothes fit. I can do this, I've done it before.

Joining.
I’m not overweight but I’m naturally very petite and the amount of snacking I’ve been doing is atrocious because there’s fuck all else to do I want to be able to brave bare legs in summer - in the beer gardens Grin

KEVINChristmas · 22/02/2021 18:03

I'm in, I want to be fitter am planning walking, cycling, swimming, tennis ad yoga.

Chocolatehabit · 22/02/2021 18:05

I’m really unfit and as my username suggests need to overhaul my eating. I’m actually not overweight but definitely not fit or toned and want to feel healthy! I definitely want to tone up and feel nice in lovely summer clothes. I struggle with exercise at the moment as I have the kids all day and by the time they’re in bed it’s dark and I don’t like running in the dark. I need to find some good YouTube workouts!

ChloeCrocodile · 22/02/2021 18:07

I’m in. I’ve put on a stone in the last year and want to have a happy, healthy summer. My sister is getting married in July (having postponed last year) so fingers crossed we will be able to have a proper party. And I will defo need a fabulous dress for that!

fireflylanegirls · 22/02/2021 18:15

Allmyarseandpeggymartin · 22/02/2021 18:16

Meeeee tooo!

My literal first thought when Boris was pontificating was fuck me I need to go on a diet

The thought of dressing up for a night out fills me with dread at the moment

TooManyPlatesInMotion · 22/02/2021 18:17

Oh yes, I'm very much in. Onwards and upwards.

Kljnmw3459 · 22/02/2021 18:19

No thanks, I'm just going to show off myself as I am. Love it or leave it!

Waxonwaxoff0 · 22/02/2021 18:24

Yep I'm in! I would like to have a normal BMI. I've been overweight for a few years now.

froga · 22/02/2021 18:25

Brilliant :o

Everyone else, what are we doing?
I am:

  • running most days
  • 30 day shred in between
  • logging calories
  • enjoying fitting in to some of my smaller clothes as it happens, every few pounds is a victory

And on a serious note, reducing my chances of being ill from covid as well as a whole host of other things.
When I lost weight before I :

  • stopped panicking about diabetes
  • lost my joint pain
  • felt better every day. Basically stopped carrying around the extra weight

@StealthPolarBear

Everyone else, what are we doing?

I’ve been doing out for walks with my son (he’s 12 months)
Snacking on fruit and veg (instead of biscuits)
Drinking lots more water.

ProfessorInkling · 22/02/2021 18:34

I’m in!

I have so many lovely summer clothes that are just that bit tight enough to be unflattering. I don’t want to lose loads of weight just enough to be more comfortable, and I’d like a bit more energy and focus.

I’m going to...

  • stick with 16:8 (been doing this a week Grin)
  • start and finish C25K
  • get my bike ready for the warmer weather
ChloeCrocodile · 22/02/2021 18:40

I’ve given up vaping a week ago, so for the next few weeks my primary focus is that the increased snacking is healthy - fruit rather than Mars bars! I’m also exercising (boxercise dvd) every other day, and doing a 20 min walk at lunchtimes.

CherryPieface · 22/02/2021 19:16

Following! The thought of people seeing me in person has started to worry me, I have really piled on the lockdown pounds. Also really out of shape. Thanks for setting up the thread.

StealthPolarBear · 22/02/2021 19:20

Please do be positive. I want to lose weight but if not I will still go out and live my life as soon as allowed. You only get one life and ill never be this young again.

JemimaMuddledUp · 22/02/2021 19:22

I'm in.

I started trying to eat less and move more last week. I've been shielding since last March and have piled on the pounds through boredom snacking. I also used to swim 3-4 times a week which gave me some leeway to eat what I liked, but I haven't been to the pool for almost a year now as it has been closed. I'm dreading trying to fit back into my office clothes.

My plan is:
Count calories with MFP
Limit the snacks
Do some kind of exercise every day (walking, online yoga class, maybe cycling as the weather improves).

SonnetForSpring · 22/02/2021 19:25

I'm in. I have half a stone of unhealthy snacking to lose. I might start running. I already exercise 4 times a week but I need more cardio and less chocolate/biscuits/icecream.

Thelongdarkteatime · 22/02/2021 19:25

I’m in! DS3 was born in May last year and I’m still carrying about 20lbs of baby weight. I’m walking everywhere but need to cut down the snacking and start using my Apple Watch fitness subscription I’m paying for!

StealthPolarBear · 22/02/2021 19:26

Congratulations on your ds3. In a few months he'll be introduced to the world!

MercuryRising · 22/02/2021 19:27

Yes please!!! I will definitely join you. I want to look and feel good for a very sociable summer.

RaggieDolls · 22/02/2021 19:41

Oh god, you're all right. We'll have skipped the 'I can wear more clothes when going out' part of the year.

I'm going to have to stop eating cake and cheese and haul my carcass out for a run.

gingganggooleywotsit · 22/02/2021 22:16

Following!! I’ve got about a stone and a half to lose, sooo hard when over 40, but persevering as my return date to onsite work is now looming! Don’t know what I’m going to do when I have to wear proper work clothes instead of leggings and slippers Shock so far I’ve been going on my exercise bike for 20 mins a day most days, logging calories with nutracheck app, and erm that’s about it. Been doing that since Xmas and only lost 5lb so need to try a bit harder. Feel like I have extra motivation after BJ’s announcement now! Was thinking about trying davina McCall’s own your goals subscription fitness thingy..
