I've been exercising, reluctantly.
But now spring is here and the end is in sight. I'm going to up exercise and get a grip on my bored snacking so that when summer arrives I feel great and full of energy, and all my summer clothes fit. I can do this, I've done it before.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 22/02/2021 22:25

Me!

I will sign back up to online gym classes (was doing them before Christmas but then quit).
No sugar.
No takeaways, fast food, crisps or pork pies.

All my jeans and bras are tight. I want to fit comfortably into my clothes for a start!

MistakenAgain · 22/02/2021 22:33

I want to lose a stone in 6 months. Not just about weight, doing a general overhaul.

@MistakenAgain

I’m in for a general overhaul as well as trying to hoof off a stone. I’m out of the habit of doing regular eyebrows, manicure, hair colour etc to coincide with monthly London work trips. Being a full time country mouse isn’t good for the glamour.
Lemons1571 · 22/02/2021 22:42

I’m doing a well known meal replacement diet. Strictly no snacks! Small dinners, bulked out with salad. I guess it’s been my thing this year, as I’m not into baking or knitting. I have 4 stone to go (started at 8 stone target loss so am halfway). I haven’t been a healthy weight for well over a decade so might be horrified when I get there (in my head I’m going to look like I did at 20) Grin

Catlover10 · 22/02/2021 22:45

Me!! Going to aim for 10k steps a day (will be more enjoyable now it’s getting a bit warmer!) and try to eat healthily where possible and do some light weights! Would like to lose 7 pounds if possible 😊

Distiller91 · 22/02/2021 22:45

Oh me please! I have a wardrobe full of fab summer dresses that aint gonna go nowhere near me. Too much snacking and fatty food teas to cheer me up. I have no excuse as my wee ones back at nursery 3 mornings a week and have a beach on my doorstep. Time to get up them sand dunes!

DavidsSchitt · 22/02/2021 23:07

Ok, I'm in.

Mon-Fri Fast 800 starting tomorrow

More walking, less couch potato 🥔

MindyStClaire · 23/02/2021 09:49

Can I join?

I need to lose weight and tone up, but mainly I just need to take better care of myself.

As well as cutting back on the snacking and doing a bit more exercise, I've bought an electric toothbrush, a nice face scrub and mask (probably do nothing but it feels good), have been doing hair treatments etc.

I'm on maternity leave now, going back to work (from home) after Easter and would like to be going back in a positive frame of mind.

Titsywoo · 23/02/2021 10:08

Yes me too. I was already obese but added another stone over the last year and need to shed about 40lbs to get near a decent weight (I think it is 32lbs to go into the overweight category but I'm happy at around BMI of 27 anyway. I'm going to be eating a mix of a healthy Japanese and Italian diet! Sounds a bit odd but I've been watching some stuff about Blue Zones (areas in the world where people live longer with less disease) and the diets from these areas appeal to me most but I wanted to mix it up a bit. I'll be having a Japanese style breakfast most days (but nearer lunch time as I can't eat early and tend to do a brunch thing most days anyway) - this is several small bowls one of rice, one of miso soup (with seaweed on top), one protein (so salmon or japanese omelette or tofu) and one or two with veg or pickled veg. For dinner I will either have something Italian or Japanese depending on my mood. I'm not vegan but will be trying to eat as plant based as possible so lots of veg. I will have one snack a day since I am only eating 2 meals. Will try to stick to 1200-1400 cals but as long as I don't go over 1600 I'll be flexible some days. No drinking booze though - I'm off it at the moment as my tooth is causing issues and I drink vodka and coke - so water it is (luckily my fav drink anyway!).

I am quite active because of my job but I'd like to start doing some yoga as I have been quite achey recently and I'd like to be stronger and more flexible.

Me too. I had a proper wake up call last week when I watched a recorded teams meeting back and realised how rubbish I looked. I've slipped into the habit of wearing loungewear all the time, not wearing make-up and just tying my hair back out of the way.

So I've upped the skincare routine, started wearing a small amount of makeup for online meetings (just enough to stop me looking completely washed out) and have been drying and styling my hair properly. I painted my nails for the first time in forever and it was amazing how much better it made me feel!

roarfeckingroarr · 23/02/2021 10:53

I'm walking a min of 10km every day with 4 month old DS

Anna12345678910 · 23/02/2021 10:56

What type of exercise is best to get fitter and healthier quickly?

LemonadeBudget · 23/02/2021 11:02

I'm in.

In a pigs eye am I walking back into that office significantly fatter than when I left it!

psychomath · 23/02/2021 11:12

Me! I don't need to lose weight but def need to get fitter after spending the last two and a bit months sitting on the couch all day every day.

I'll go for a run tomorrow (I'm in work today) if someone else will?

gingganggooleywotsit · 23/02/2021 13:19

I hate running, but using my exercise, or real bike i don't mind!
Trouble is my diet I think, i've been tracking my calories on a tracker and coming in just under, but I haven't changed my habits iyswim i just eat less of them. I still eat alot of carbs and fat, like crisps etc. The weight is just not shifting fast enough! Also need to sort my eyebrows out! I have never had them 'done'. Just pluck them to a nice shape but now they are starting to look a bit bushy and have some white hairs it's hideous, so going to buy an eyebrow pencil to fill in the gaps and maybe a comb/gel for them?

applesandoranges221 · 23/02/2021 13:27

Me please! I have kept up running through lockdown but have also eaten chocolate, piled on weight I’d already lost and just feel generally shit. So this is a much needed thread ☺️

SpringisSpinning · 23/02/2021 14:14

Yep same, I have started gentle sit ups and leg exercises...I need to really up the anti and get moving but I hate running so wont be doing that.

Northernlass99 · 23/02/2021 15:04

donerwillbehere · 23/02/2021 22:29

Gertie75 · 23/02/2021 22:34

I started intermittent fasting on January 1st and lost 10lbs in that month, I'm only weighing on the first of each month so will find out on Monday how I did throughout February, I'm aiming for a minimum of 7 lbs a month until I lose 4 stone.

I'm walking every day and at the weekend I bought an Oculus Quest headset and have got a great game called Beat Sabre that it giving my upper body a good workout so hopefully I'll lose my bingo wings in time for the summer.

ittakes2 · 24/02/2021 20:29

Me too please! great tip thanks Gertie75 about Beat Sabre as we also have an Oculus Quest headset!

MrsBennetsnerves · 24/02/2021 22:45

I'm in. I have a BMI of 30.9 and want to get safely out of the obese category before I start going out and about more in the summer. I am aiming for 5% as a starting point which is 11lb. I am going to increase the walking gradually too and DH is also keen to do this so I'll have company . I logged my meals today with MFP so there a start already made.

StealthPolarBear · 25/02/2021 06:46

I am running most days but cannot stop snacking. Chocolate. Help!
