”even if it's a Dire Straits tribute band, I'm fucking going.” 😂😂😂

Dorisdaydream2 · 22/02/2021 19:43

My teenagers are going to go wild!!!!

SuperbGorgonzola · 22/02/2021 19:44

I can't wait to go to a noisy bar with loud music and nowhere to sit down.

I've got Chris Ramsey tickets for next year too and i want to be in a crowded theatre enjoying the atmosphere and ordering a pint of wine during the interval

AliceMadHatter · 22/02/2021 19:44

Enjoy.

I can't wait to sit in a beer garden in the sun with my friends sharing bottles of wine.

quarentini · 22/02/2021 19:52

People seeing people
People hugging people
People laughing
People having fun
People making plans

It will be grand

EveryDayIsADuvetDay · 22/02/2021 19:56

Skade · 22/02/2021 19:57

@TheVampiresWife

I'm going to go to every single gig within a 50 mike radius of me, even if it's on a Monday night, even if it's a Dire Straits tribute band, I'm fucking going.
I have found my people Grin

I want to go to ALL the bands, Dire Straits, Meat Loaf tributes, you name it and I'll be there...

EveryDayIsADuvetDay · 22/02/2021 19:59

and I've got Shingai Shoniwa tickets for a gig that's been rescheduled so many times I've lost count.

NeverSurrender · 22/02/2021 19:59

I read this as " I just had my first glass of wine since yesterday!" 😁
userxx · 22/02/2021 20:02

@IceCreamAndCandyfloss

Nor us, not drinkers anyway and just because you can do something doesn’t always mean it’s a good idea. I don’t want more restrictions back.

Jesus fucking Christ. Pass me the rope.

2021namechanger · 22/02/2021 20:08

I cannot wait to dance... go somewhere with a crowd and dance my arse off.

majesticallyawkward · 22/02/2021 20:09

@gigity

Younger adults won't have had their vaccines yet.

Yes, will everyone on this thread have had a vaccine before the summer?

The aim is all adults vaccinated by the end of July so if all goes to plan yes.

I'm not bothered about pubs and clubs (unless anyone volunteers to babysit the feral DC!) but even social recluse me is looking forward to some social interaction 😬 tentative plans are in place for bbqs, drinks, beach trips and days out!

Pastanred · 22/02/2021 20:14

god me to - got about 4-5 get togethers sorted already! Already got 3 back garden parties for end march when rule of 6 comes in. cannot wait

ShowOfHands · 22/02/2021 20:15

No to drinking but...

Theatre, festivals, gigs, lunch with friends, bookshops, the DC having friends round, museums, trips out. Ohhhh I can't wait.

user85963842 · 22/02/2021 20:18

I'm considering stepping foot into a nightclub for the first time in 10+ years, the thought of crowds, loud music and an alcoholic buzz just sounds amazing right now!!!

MoirasRoses · 22/02/2021 20:18

I haven’t been clubbing for 6 years but god, why the hell not in 2021! I’ll go and remember why I stopped going but oh well, it’ll be a joyous life experience! 😄

I can finally have my house warming 🥳 and on the plus side, I’ve had time to decorate & make the house as I’d like it to be before anyone sees it.. every cloud.

user85963842 · 22/02/2021 20:24

I won't be. I'll be avoiding busy places like the plague. I'd like to avoid another lockdown or mutation next winter.

You'll be missed Hmm

BoogleMcGroogle · 22/02/2021 20:28

Like the Oracles we are, yesterday DH and I bought a huge outdoor table for our garden. I can’t wait to flamboyantly decorate it and get our friends round it, like in a kitsch Bacardi ad. I’ll wear my good frocks, and there’ll be music, amazing food, croquet, kids, dogs and fire pits. I’m not sure we will be hammered, but we’ve got stockpiled bottles of Chateau Musar, Nyetimber and Royal Tokaji, which certainly won’t go to waste.

MargosKaftan · 22/02/2021 20:51

Well I'm not going clubbing, haven't been for years and not starting now. However I will head for our local cocktail bar and try to remember how to walk in heels and how to do good eyeliner and get giggly with my fabulous friends.

I will go to all the restaurants and eat all the food I haven't cooked and is served on plates I wont have to clean.

I am going to say yes to things. "Amdram" performance of a musical from the 80s that hasn't done a run in London since the Berlin Wall came down? Is there a bar? Why yes I'll buy tickets.

Oh you have been writing poetry in lockdown and have been invited to perform it one evening at a local book store. Will there be wine? Oh, wine and twiglets. Why yes I'll be there to support you.

Wine tasting! At a vineyard in the arse end of nowhere? I'll book a taxi. In fact I'll round up the girls and book a party bus. Get them to swing by the good kebab shop on way home.

Can I come? Sounds fucking excellent.
TwunchOfBats · 23/02/2021 08:58

If by 'going mental' you mean a non essential trip to the garden centre to refresh the herb border, then I'm in Grin

However people choose to go mental, I really do hope that they enjoy themselves.

herecomesthsun · 23/02/2021 09:03

I will be wishing you all well as I sit in the sunshine outside a local cafe, people-watching, while the kids browse in the second hand bookshop. We'll go for icecreams later.

MorrisZapp · 23/02/2021 09:07

Every single tribute band I've ever seen has been better than the real thing. My friend has travelled the world and been lucky enough to see loads of exciting concerts, she says the best gig of her life was an Eagles tribute act in Girvan.

pintoffginplz · 23/02/2021 09:07

A Prince said, I'm going to party like it's 1999 😁

Pyewackect · 23/02/2021 09:39

@FrankiesKnuckle

I'll be taking all my weekends off then, for us it will be fucking mental (paramedic). All that pent up frustration + booze + sun = carnage for frontline NHS yet again.
Absolutely. That'll be my Q to throw my scrubs into the ITU laundry basket for the last time and head back to my original unit. It'll be strange wearing my uniform again and not having to work 4 or even 5 long days on the trott. I may even go agency or find a 9-5 clinic position. Whatever happens, I'm not going to work another 12 hour shift, night duty, weekend or Christmas ever again.
