Following the prime ministers announcement, the road map suggests that (subject to the usual caveats) we could be free of restrictions by end of June. Thoughts? Too soon? Not soon enough?

It will never be exactly the same as it was before. Not quite.

PracticingPerson · 22/02/2021 16:11

Back to the op - personally I don't think I will feel comfortable in a busy place (e.g. theatre) without distancing unless either rates are very low or I've had a vaccine, so will have to see how June is.

This to me is a bit of a worry for

Pootle40 · 22/02/2021 16:12

Events for 10,000 people ........yay! Normality is on its way

AIMummy · 22/02/2021 16:13

Prince William's birthday.

MargosKaftan · 22/02/2021 16:13

Oh dear lord, better start saving / dieting - July is going to be quite the social whirl and I need to get back into my nice summery dresses! There's going to be over a year's worth of rescheduled events happening. Im not sure I know how to walk in heels anymore.

Pity it looks like I need to continue to grow my mustache until mid April.

ineedaholidaynow · 22/02/2021 16:14

I'm not quite sure how Boris originally said the roadmap would not be about dates but data, and then sets out everything by dates!

Borntohula · 22/02/2021 16:14

Wow. Sense of humour fail on here! Obviously 'new variant with 100% death rate' was hopefully a joke.

grapewine · 22/02/2021 16:15

@Donoteatthekittens

New variant with a 100% death rate which the vaccines don’t work on will be found in May and we will back into lockdown...
Just why did you have to do this right now?
Shahira78 · 22/02/2021 16:15

Husband will be pleased. It's his birthday!

MsMiaWallace · 22/02/2021 16:16

Might be able to go on holiday in July then??!!??

@Magnificentmug12 - no. Its not enough to keep the economy closed and stop people wanting to act like people.

The fact we've done this for over a year is amazing.

Haenow · 22/02/2021 16:20

I read it as starting 21 June but either way, it sounds like a much better summer ahead and I cannot wait!

Beebityboo · 22/02/2021 16:20

frantically googles how much weight can I lose by June 21st?

Not getting excited until it happens. We cannot trust them

@Beebityboo

My sisters thoughts too, her response “oh f#^k, I’ve just ate a jam doughnut”

the80sweregreat · 22/02/2021 16:26

I hope our Pm is booked in at the barbers for the 12th April.
He could do with a trim.

Wouldn't be surprised.

Oh @beaniecats, you have to come and spread some gloom. Are you disappointed that your "we will never get our rights back" narrative is crumbling?

Frogartist · 22/02/2021 16:31

But this doesn't include going on holiday does it? It's a bit noisy in my house. I think he said they'll tell us whether we can on holiday on 12th April (?

I need to practise wearing heeled boots again! (or anything other than scrappy trainers....!)
