Group 6 - unpaid carer - Have you been offered the vaccine yet?

I've seen some areas are starting to offer to group 6 already.

Is anyone here eligible in this group as an unpaid carer and been offered it yet?

If so, would you mind saying which NHS Trust you come under?

Thanks.

I’m an unpaid carer, didn’t occur to me that I needed a vaccine early until I realised that my children going to school was going to greatly increase the risk of passing on COVID. I don’t get carers allowance, it’s an informal situation that arose after Christmas but is here to stay. I spoke to my go today, they made me an appointment there and then. I go Saturday.

Had my first on Monday, East Sussex. For anyone who wants to register at their GOs as an unpaid carer here is a link to carers uk who have a very good template letter available to download

Spikeyball

I read news today on daily post that in Wales unpaid carer must be sole or primary carer.

However there are exceptions to this rule, such as situations two people are needed with such tasks as positioning, hoisting, bathing and changing. Also, in other cases two people might evenly divide the caring responsibilities. In these instances, both unpaid carers may be considered as the primary carers.

I'm not sure what rules are in rest of UK. May differ, but you certainly both should qualify in your circumstances.

I'm my 17 year old autistic ds carer, I get carers credit in my benefits but have not been sent for yet. How do I let my GP know? Ds got his jab because he cares for exh & me.
