Those who dedicate their lives to understanding science. Without it we would have no hope.

Dh and dcs
Roof over my head
Opportunity to start new career (aka being base redundant Grin, but I'm reframing it as a good thing, as I do have time and some savings set aside to retrain)

Btw, Oprah said doing daily gratitudes is part of her success, so a really good thing to do! Thanks for the thread op. I'm grateful for thread eh? Eh?

The flowers are about to open on the first few of my spring bulbs. There are 5 tiny points of colour in my little concrete courtyard and I can watch them from my desk.

Blondiney · 03/02/2021 09:46

Grateful that we've got Dog 1's arthritic hips under control. She's like a pup again!

Grateful that I've learned to cut my hair myself and have it looking reasonable. Always hated going to the hairdresser, sitting staring at yourself under harsh lights while making inane chitchat, don't know how I did it for so long.

Grateful that I've got a food delivery due in about an hour.

Calmandmeasured1 · 03/02/2021 09:48

I am grateful that:
Family members have recovered from Covid.
Parents aren't here to endure this struggle.
We have fantastic scientists in the UK who have created a successful vaccine.
Electricity exists.
Roof over my head.
I have a large garden.
I live near to shops and public transport.
I live close to a natural beauty spot.

Clearly, our frontline service, who are getting us through this utter shitstorm. But on a more mundane note:

  • Jaffa Cakes
  • My porch, which is the perfect shelter from wind rain and a lovely escape with a coffee (and sneaky cigarette on occasion) when being inside with constant pawing and requirements is driving me bananas.
  • My mum, who although I can't see her, is always on the other end of the phone, usually when I'm huddled in said porch.
  • The postman, Hermes delivery lady, and Nico from DPD, who have literally bought me so much joy over the past few months. Sure they hate me though. Sorry guys!
