Just been listening to his session in HoC (whilst pottering and putting shopping away,didn't sit and watch, not that sad😉) and though I know won't be popular,found him reassuring in his style,and in what he's saying.
To be health secretary in worst pandemic in generations will test,l anyone,and anyone would make mistakes,so I'm not excusing that: However,if he has to be accountable for those,which I agree he does,he also deserves the credit when things go well, mainly the vaccine rollout,and the early ordering,which is going so well,and giving so much hope,and protection,to many

This thread has made me laugh. I think he’s done a decent job too, although my view may be warped by the fact that I also have a crush on him! I don’t know why, there is no logic to it. I have seen his creepy interview with that poor woman and seen his bizarre attempt at crying. I have said for ages that it must be Stockholm Syndrome. But the good things is that I am up to date with the regular briefings, speeches in parliament etc cos I want to watch him ... I have never been this well informed on politics! Glad I’m not alone in my weird crush!

Eww just eww - he always reminds me of shiny 6th form prefect material. The one that's not actually very clever but wears a suit and is polite to the teachers so everyone things he's a swat anyway.

Can't think of him as a good health minister or even a fairly competent one.
I'm not sure many in the health service would praise him - my husband audibly groans every time he pops up on the tv.
He doesn't seem to be a malevolent MP unlike some of his colleagues but competent would be a stretch. I suspect he gets sympathy because the bar for MPs is very very low at the moment and it is a tough time but I'm not sure that's a free pass for being a bit shit and ineffectual.

He stopped using it in 2016 - I've been meaning to look up when he became a minister....probably about that time. But I am pretty sure it is him....all in the right areas for where he lives.

As a massive anti tory I have to confess that since I found out about him training as a jockey I've had a totally ridiculous and slightly disturbing fantasy where Hancock takes me from behind wearing only his jockey cap and rides me like one of his racehorses, with the occasional whip from his riding crop. Definitely Stockholm syndrome
