Vaccine link thread?

Directionerforever · 29/01/2021 08:51

I was reading a thread last night that had the link to book vaccines if you were in the right category. I can’t find it now this morning, was there a problem with it? I wanted to book in laws (70’s) this morning but I don’t want to if there is an issue. They’d probably rather catch Covid than go to an ill gotten appointment.

Thank you so much to the OP on the original thread.

Just booked my dad in, he is Over 70 and CEV as well.

It's a huge weight off all our minds. My mum has already had first dose so this just makes us all feel better.

Lovely! 🥰

Keep spreading the word with your friends and family, I got another one booked last night!

Yiayoula · 30/01/2021 12:47

My friend’s DH should be having his jab right now , and the parents of DS’s friend are booked for theirs, all from this thread.

DH had his first vaccination ( AstraZeneca ) this morning. 🍾
Thank you xx

Shmithecat2 · 30/01/2021 12:53

My dad has just had his 1st jab done 🥳🥳. Thanks again @gibsons Smile

gisbons · 30/01/2021 12:59

@Yiayoula am I right in remembering that you woke your husband up in the middle of the night when you booked it a couple of nights ago?! I'm bloody over the moon for you, and @Shmithecat2! Star

I also think @JengaJanga and her DH were booked in today Flowers

Yiayoula · 30/01/2021 13:08

@ gisbons - Yes, that was me !

After our 3.30am celebratory cuppas, we went back to sleep - next morning he was convinced he’d dreamed the whole thing .....

So very grateful to you, have sent on the link to every eligible friend and family member . 💐 xx

PastMyBestBeforeDate · 30/01/2021 13:12

@gisbons I'm another ECV person who has booked an appointment on the back of your thread so thank you Flowers
I tried earlier in the week and it said I wasn't eligible then yesterday it took me to the booking pages. My MIL, my parents and I are all in different groups and we will all have been vaccinated in the same order as the JCVI list.

gisbons · 30/01/2021 13:35

We've just manage to book MIL in!! She said she felt like it was Christmas Smile

flowersWB · 30/01/2021 15:50

Just to add. I used that thread/link yesterday to book my CEV mum in for 1.50 today in Newcastle and she is now vaccinated! I had her all prepped to lie and say she'd received a phone call if they asked for her letter but they didn't. The only things they asked for were her booking reference (which we got when we booked) and her NHS number (which she didn't have, but they didn't mind and found it for her) so it was totally straightforward and above board. Thanks so much for posting the link!!!

Aposterhasnoname · 30/01/2021 17:08

DD had her vaccine today thanks to the link. They asked for her booking ref, then asked if she worked for the NHS as she looked a bit out of place with all the 70 + year olds, she said no, she’s CEV, and that was that, no further questions. She’s now had her vaccine and the relief is unreal.

gisbons · 30/01/2021 18:19

It is absolutely above board 😁

Let’s continue to get these vaccinations booked!

JengaJanga · 30/01/2021 20:40

Mumsnet deleted it

My and partner are both CEV and it was a real link
We both had our vaccines today

I AM SO THANKFUL FOR THE ORIGINAL LINK...
SO ORIGINAL POSTER ... THANK YOU!!!!

Our local hub / organisation is terrible and havent even completed group 1 yet

JengaJanga · 30/01/2021 20:41

So sorry
I only just saw this thread now

Directionerforever · 30/01/2021 21:52

@gisbons did MN get back to you as to why they deleted the thread. In laws vaccines tomorrow at Newcastle (so great to hear previous posters experience from the Centre for Life) I’m so happy for them.

They took umbrage with me saying that people could book their vaccinations "even if they hadn't had their letter."

I replied explaining that the information in my threads was accurate and legitimate. I said that I thought the AIBU frothers may have been getting confused between the totally legitimate NHS public booking site and the NHS staff booking site (as the latter had been leaked and some people had booked when they weren’t meant to). I asked them to reinstate my threads and that actually they should be promoting the booking service rather than deleting threads on it.

They did not reply.

Anyway, posts like @JengaJanga's is what it's all about! Star Flowers Glitterball

MoirasRoses · 30/01/2021 23:17

Thank you so much for this thread, my ECV mum has booked in for Monday. She was crying down the phone in relief. Second dose on her birthday in April. 👏🏼👏🏼

busface999 · 30/01/2021 23:23

Glad to see more threads on this! My ECV Dad has managed to book using the link, which I got from the original thread. It didn't work for a couple of days, saying he wasn't eligible, then suddenly worked on Thursday. He is booked for Monday and is thrilled. Letter hasn't arrived yet so he wouldn't have booked yet, had I not seen the thread Smile

JengaJanga · 30/01/2021 23:49

Im so pleased for everyone ...

I posted on my local Facebook Covid help group and it got deleted from admin and then blocked from the group because

‘I should leave the vaccine roll out to the professionals , and im not one’

And when i said to them that the local hib hsnt been open all week, theres no Q jumping, its legit, etc...

I was told, i was attacking her...

Sad, because the link has helped so many people here and surely the aim is for everyone to get the vaccine

Never mind....

@gisbons Thank you again 💐💐💐💐💐💐

Wigeon · 31/01/2021 08:18

If you can’t find your NHS number to book through the link, you can get your NHS number here

That’s really disappointing. The link is definitely genuine, and it shouldn’t be possible to queue jump as you can only book if you fall within one of the current eligible categories. If there are appointments available and you are eligible, they’re appointments for you!
beaker25 · 31/01/2021 08:30

Sent the link to my dad yesterday who is now booked for next week, hes been climbing the walls worrying that he missed his letter. Husbands mum and partner also used it to book yesterday. They are all delighted (as am I) THANK YOU.

CaveMum · 31/01/2021 08:46

Just to add, don’t panic if you don’t know your NHS number - it will ask you your name, date of birth and post code instead to confirm your ID.

Keep spreading the word, I’ve put the link on my village Facebook page - a few people have jumped on me but a lot of others have used the link for themselves/family members so even if only a handful of people get the jabs as a result it is making a difference.

BlowDryRat · 31/01/2021 10:11

Advice from my GP family member about getting the jab: If it's the AZ one I would recommend some paracetamol beforehand and continue regularly for the next 2 days to ward off the fevers.

lurker101 · 31/01/2021 10:39

@BlowDryRat did they have a fever after? My late 90s grandparent had the AZ jab and had no side effects (and didn’t take anything to prevent/aid)
