Update for the people who helped the night I couldn’t sleep

A few nights ago during those horrible small hours I reached out on here for friends to talk to. My husband gravely ill in ICU with Covid.

Today they moved him to a ward! They are pleased with his progress. He is doing well.

We have been warned to expect a long and slow recovery but as long as eventually a recovery comes bring it on! I’m ready to help him with anything he needs for as long as it takes.

Thank you all so much for the other night. The fact that you answered my cry for help bought much comfort and eventually a couple of hours of precious sleep. Xx

That's wonderful news so happy for you, don't forget to look after yourself as you will need your strength to help him when he comes home. Really really pleased for you and husband.

Delighted to hear he is Out of ICU. A family member was in ICU last year. My advise is to reap every little bit of progress he makes and he will be back to himself in no tone. Also be kind to yourself. Try and eat and get some sleep. Best wishes.

I’m delighted he’s been moved out of ICU. Great news. You’ve been through so much.

As others have said, please use the time to convalesce yourself in advance of him coming home.

Get yourself in the best place possible, as you may be going back into caring mode once he’s out of hospital.
