Update for the people who helped the night I couldn’t sleep

AEJS · 10/01/2021 23:54

A few nights ago during those horrible small hours I reached out on here for friends to talk to. My husband gravely ill in ICU with Covid.

Today they moved him to a ward! They are pleased with his progress. He is doing well.

We have been warned to expect a long and slow recovery but as long as eventually a recovery comes bring it on! I’m ready to help him with anything he needs for as long as it takes.

Thank you all so much for the other night. The fact that you answered my cry for help bought much comfort and eventually a couple of hours of precious sleep. Xx

Very happy for you! I believe I saw your thread somewhat after the event (i'm in Australia so often miss things "in the moment") and may not have actually commented, but what a relief it is that he's out of ICU.

I hope you have him home very soon and he makes a full and complete recovery (and tell him to be careful - another friend's DH fell while in hospital with covid and managed to break his leg!Shock)

Does anyone know what happened to the other poster whose husband was getting better but deteriorated a couple of days ago? I can't find the thread.

Purplethrow · 11/01/2021 18:41

This is fantastic news and may help all the other MNetters to hold onto hope that even the very very unwell patients on ITU wards do recover. I am genuinely, so pleased for you and your family xx

Purplethrow · 11/01/2021 18:42

@InsertRudeWord , Her name has wardrobe in it .

opinionminion · 11/01/2021 18:47

I looked for your post yesterday and I was very concerned as I couldn't find it.
I am so relieved he is on a ward. I work in a flagship hospital and these are the positive stories we all need to hear.
It's so refreshing that you have had all this support from the Mumsnet family.
Remember tiny steps is all that matters.
Thanks
