1.5 million people vaccinated already - brilliant!

They’ve vaccinated 1.5 million people so far and the target is 13.9 million people (the top 4 groups in the attached graphic) by the middle of February, according to ITV. It’ll be a fantastic achievement if they can hit that target.

The government will be providing daily updates on the vaccine rollout progress from Monday 11th January.

It’s such a relief that they’ve got this vaccine and are rolling it out quickly across the country. Considering that it’s only 8th January today, I truly feel like 13.9 million by mid February is achievable.

Come on, let’s do this!

And... there were 343,163 reported vaccinations yesterday - our best figure yet!

To hit the mid February target we need to be vaccinating 357,000 per day, so we’re not far off.

Go go go!! Grin

The woman that did mine said she does one every three minutes! And she does a 12 hour shift.

boys3 · 20/01/2021 17:21

I had plumped for 5 million to be hit by Wednesday so with 4,609,740 on the board maybe we’ll fall marginally short of that, but likely within 25,000 once the numbers for today get reported tomorrow.

I can live with that though Grin

next question predictions for when we will hit 10 million

FourTeaFallOut · 20/01/2021 17:21

And...this is up 65% on the figures for last Wednesday 😁

WetJan · 20/01/2021 17:41

Just caught up with a colleague who had her first today at a vaccination hub, she told me there were three coppers who not only sneaked in but queue jumped! Utter scamps Grin

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 20/01/2021 17:47

One jab every three minutes!

I don't think anyone predicted that was possible

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 20/01/2021 17:50

You are aiming big. 10 million I like itGrin

I say 10 million by 4th February Wine

Mumoftwoinprimary · 20/01/2021 18:17

Great vaccination numbers for today! Cases are down too. Deaths were awful but cases hit their peak on 8th Jan so I’m hoping that deaths will start going down in the next couple of days.

My prediction for 10 million......

Tuesday 2nd February!

(Note - that is the results announced on 3rd Feb giving details of up to and including 2nd Feb.)

EasterIssland · 20/01/2021 18:28

I like the idea of the 4th as it’ll be bday so nice present :)

Is it around 1.7m a week what we’re doing ?

buttery81 · 20/01/2021 19:58

I’m going for 3rd February for 10 million! (As in, 10 million announced on 4th Feb as the latest figure up to and including the 3rd). Bring it on!!! Grin

Our target is 13.9m by 15th Feb?

That’s correct! Smile

Who guessed 5 million today??

And I'm one of them, there was two vaccines left at the end of the day today and I was the only volunteer left who hadn't had one, we dragged a passerby in out of the rain for the other!

cyclingmad · 20/01/2021 21:32

For all the crap about track and trace and issues last year, this is the single most important one to get right, the vaccine!

Nothing else was ever going to set us back to a more normal life again than this. So I for one am glad the government made all the right decisions at the right time to get this done.

shalalala · 20/01/2021 22:18

Can I just wanted to share a heartfelt thank you to everyone on this thread. I'm really struggling at the moment - almost a year of trying to keep positive is now failing. This thread is a beacon of fresh air and positivity.

Thank you

Should hit 10% of the adult population vaccinated (first dose) either tomorrow or Friday. (UK adult population is around 53 million, so 5.3 million).

boys3 · 20/01/2021 22:30

Well the gauntlet has been well and truly thrown down for when we’ll hit 10 million Grin

3rd or 4th Feb seem reasonable, but with more locations opening up I’m going to plump for 2nd Feb (so reported on 3rd Feb).

BRING IT ON !!!!!!!

BeakyWinder · 20/01/2021 22:31

Every care home and every over 80 in my town is done as of today Smile they are aiming to do all over 75's next week! Amazing speed I'm really impressed.

herecomesthsun · 20/01/2021 22:36

Just fabulous that so many people have been vaccinated! Just the rest of us (and the second doses to go!)

Redrunbluerun · 20/01/2021 22:41

What an uplifting thread 😀 It’s cheered me up, I didn’t realise we’d done 5 million!
