I am very much of belief that this was biological warfare. It was created in a lab and some chinese drs told media to be transparent, they then disappeared.
However we will never know if released intentionally as a means to cripple the wests economy or accidentally.

I really believe that if China was not a "superpower", did not have such financial strangleholds on parts of the world, and was not feared, that is what would happen - not that I would be in favour of that at all.
It's not just that the virus emerged from there, (deliberately or accidentally), but the actions of the CCP following on from that, both of which have devastated peoples' lives, that just makes me feel some reparation or recompense should be sought.
Or that some sanctions should be applied.
But what? I don't know, but I know you are right - nothing will happen.
But it's still all so very wrong.

But it doesn't - it involves China, so you're also right that, in all probability, nothing will be done

To be honest, I don't believe in this theory, it sounds implausible. The Chinese have been eating various animals for centuries, from bats to worms. This would have caused a pandemic much earlier. At the same time, I do not rule out this option, because I believe that everything can be. It is also possible that bats are carriers of various infections, and could serve as a reason for this. That's why I try to stay away from them, and if I see them in my shed, I immediately call the specialists.

I think that's a very simplified and un-scientific explanation but the evidence suggests it originated in a species of animal (bat or pangolin most likely) and mutated to become zoonotic and started infecting humans via the animals kept at Chinese wet markets. It's not as simple as 'someone ate a bat'.

All those people that says it was created in a lab- there was a paper published last March (featured in the guardians long read) by world leading virologists that debunked this myth.

They understand the Coronavirus family of viruses better than most in the world. They explained it was quite easy to see the evolutionary link between covid19 and previous viruses ie sars/mers etc.

They also understand the tell tale signs that a virus has been manipulated- if you are a world leader in the field you will understand this better than pretty much anyone. Those tell-tale signs are not present and they concluded that it is a natural progression for this class of virus.

I’ll believe those type of specialists- it’s been their life work studying these things, unlike most of the shite any old random spouts on the Internet. That’s my 2p.
