What were your non stereotypical symptoms?

I'm battling the most overwhelming fatigue today along with chills, a headache and massive waves of nausea (also total appetite loss which is VERY unlike me).

Thinking it's best to book a test to be on the safe side?.

I know a few people who have tested positive & didn't have any of the main symptoms!! They had headache, body aches & felt like they had a cold.

MiniMaxi · 29/12/2020 20:57

Are you using the ZOE app? I bet if you logged those symptoms it would invite you for a test.

I was invited last week just for logging mild fatigue, ear discomfort and dizziness. Came back neg.

Iamsodonewith2020 · 29/12/2020 21:07

Sore throat, sore eyes and general fatigue. 5 days after positive test I developed a cough and lost sense of smell and taste.

minnie465 · 29/12/2020 21:10

Diarrhoea and dizziness!! Cough came a few days later

JorisBonson · 29/12/2020 21:11

Thanks all. I feel like a bus has hit me today, come to bed because I was struggling to stay awake. The eaves of nausea have been horrible and I've struggled to warm up. Will see how I am tomorrow.

@MiniMaxi I do and will log, cheers.

I think you should get a test with non stereotypical symptoms if possible - join ZOE if you haven’t already - it’s an excellent public service.

I reported nausea and was invited by ZOE to get test on boxing day with partner (he had no symptoms at all) we were both positive! Since then I went on to get sore throat and headache but nausea has gone. Partner has started to get symptoms - rash and head ache. Both of us have developed slight dimming of taste/smell. Neither of us would qualify for test as haven’t got classic symptoms yet.

Hope that’s helpful - I think mumsnet is helpful to find out factual information such as my experience.

Nausea and really bad acid reflux that antacids wouldn't touch.

JorisBonson · 29/12/2020 22:25

It does help, thanks @Jsummersun

Mild fevers (like feeling warm and flushed, cheeks and forehead were bright pink) that occurred intermittently, also had the chills strangely occurring between 4pm -7pm only!
Headache which lasted 3 days, felt dizzy and had complete loss of appetite for about two days.
I had a dry cough and tight chest for 3 weeks in total but to be honest that was quite a mild symptom for me and didn't bother me that much. My chest felt like it was gritty, like breathing in sandpaper. Never had anything like that before, the whole thing was very wierd. Didn't feel like any other virus I'd ever had.
Nowhere near as bad as the flu I had in October last year.

PapercraftNinja · 29/12/2020 22:59

Headache, nausea and overwhelming fatigue definitely. Tested positive a few days ago

MiniMaxi · 29/12/2020 23:03

Hope you feel better soon OP!

Lastfreakinglegs · 29/12/2020 23:08

Cold feet and toes that were hard to warm up. Back and muscle aches. Like I'd pulled a muscle in my back

cakeallday · 29/12/2020 23:11

Headache (for 9 days)
One huge painful bout of diarrhoea
Sore chest but no cough
Body aches
Fatigue

I didn't have a temperature or any of the typical symptoms.

Frenchdressing · 30/12/2020 01:03

I didn’t get a test but am sure I had it back in March. Me and a friend were at a gig and he got it. Classic symptoms. I had severe fatigue, could barely get out of bed, body aches, a 3 day headache and stabbing abdominal pain. Lasted about a week.

Porcupineintherough · 30/12/2020 01:20

Diarrhoea, nausea and a burning sensation on my skin.

Willyoujustbequiet · 30/12/2020 01:42

My friend got sore/swollen eyes.

TheAlphaandtheOmega · 30/12/2020 06:07

Lots of sickness and bad stomach.

weepingwillow22 · 30/12/2020 06:16

Tested positive on 27th. Initially had a headache, now have cold symptoms (blocked nose and ears) and fatigue. Still have sense of taste and smell. No cough or fever.

Jsummersun · 30/12/2020 06:47

It would be helpful to hear from anyone who is about day 14 or more to hear how symptoms progressed after initial non-stereotypical symptoms.

I am now day 7 and have bad headache this morning. No tight chest. No fever. Breathing normal.

Best wishes to everyone using this site.

UncomfortableSilence · 30/12/2020 06:50

Headache
Overwhelming fatigue, which I still have
Nausea
Severe lower back and hip pain
Diarrhoea
Mild temp for a day
Very occasional cough
Blocked head and ears
I'm on day 13, DH caught it and his has been like a really bad head cold with constant sneezing and body aches.
We both have no appetite and altered sense of taste.

So many people have symptoms other than the main 3, I really think this needs to be updated in terms of testing, our borough is doing mass testing so anyone can get a test symptoms or not.

Jsummersun · 30/12/2020 06:58

That’s interesting UncomfortableSilence. Thanks for responding. Your symptoms are similar snd others report similar symptoms too both in this thread and from people I’ve heard about.
It is reassuring for me (and probably others) to find out that the non stereotypical symptoms are not that unusual.

Nearlytherenext · 30/12/2020 07:22

I have the can't symptoms as you, minus the nausea.

I tested positive. This new strain seems to be less coughs and more headaches/body aches.

I'd recommend you got tested

Flamingolingo · 30/12/2020 08:08

Those of you who tested for atypical symptoms: how did you manage it? I have a splitting headache and have felt ‘off’ for a day or so - but can’t book a test. Did you just lie about symptoms? Zoe hasn’t suggested a test either!

I had all those symptoms, nausea morphed into the runs, and couldn't get out of bed for almost a month. Also got back pains ( as did DH) on about days 4-6. I lost almost a stone as just no appetite. I put it all back on though!
