I'm battling the most overwhelming fatigue today along with chills, a headache and massive waves of nausea (also total appetite loss which is VERY unlike me).

Thinking it's best to book a test to be on the safe side?.

Good point. I wouldn’t have even considered a test just for nausea - ZOE emailed me - I only ticked nausea as a symptom. I’m not sure it’s ethical to make up symptoms.

Mind you I reported it Xmas eve and got email from Zoe Boxing Day for test - then the result on 27th.

If concerned self isolate if you can snd see what happens?

Flamingolingo · 30/12/2020 08:53

Ah ok, so the Zoe study people might email. Just interesting because that might be the reason for the spread - the website says no test needed. We are all just a bit snotty and blah. Occasional cough but also not really a cough iyswim

JorisBonson · 30/12/2020 08:55

DH has woken up and his sense of smell has gone weird, so off we both go for a test today!

I am one of those people who feels quite certain that they had the virus in early spring, ahead of widespread infection in this country. But I was working at a large university and the whole place was riddled with respiratory infection. I suffered with an awful awful cough, terrible headaches, fever for 3+ weeks, and the now famed loss of smell and taste. Plus fatigue lasting many weeks, and later hair loss. So it would be very interesting if I tested positive now - because that means I had another absolutely awful virus earlier this year.

Jsummersun · 30/12/2020 09:02

I’m glad you are able to have test Joris

I do hope they widen criteria for test. I would encourage everyone to sign up to Zoe app research.

ilovebagpuss · 30/12/2020 09:34

Aches were agony like real joint pain and chills.
Had awful back skin pain like I had terrible sun burn and could barely put clothes on but there was nothing to see.
No cough not a peep and I’m asthmatic.

Mistigri · 30/12/2020 09:39

My DS17 and most of his student cohort had it in September. Headache and fatigue were the main initial symptoms. The one student he knows who also had fever was more severely ill (admitted to hospital).

You should get a test if you possibly can.

itsgettingweird · 30/12/2020 09:42

Started as extremely bad sinusitis and sore throat nothing would relieve.

Then tight chest and heart palpitations.

Then cough.

Then loss of smell then taste.

Then fever.

Then had the most awful brain fog and fatigue for 3 weeks.

This was back in March when no one was tested so have no evidence I had it. But have been told I did probably by consultant.

I had no idea likely covid when first started as guidance was different about contacts etc and also symptoms that weren't in official list.

I loss my smell 4 days before that even became an official thing.

I'd advise anyone to test in case. The more we isolate cases the quicker we get out of this.

testandtracequestion · 30/12/2020 09:50

DC had typical cold/flu symptoms - runny nose, sore throat, slight cough, slightly tight chest, lost sense of taste to certain foods but not sense of smell.
I had the same loss of taste, no chest tightness but it did aggravate my gallstone pain. I also had cough/sore throat, sinus pain, headache and stomach pain/ nausea. Oh, and we all had achy limbs too.

Aahotep · 30/12/2020 09:57

My main symptoms back in March were gastric. No appetite, horrible diarrhoea with a weird consistency (sorry tmi), joint pain especially hips, stomach cramps, blinding headache that lasted days, my feet and hands peeled like after sunburn, crackly chest but no cough to speak of, mild temperature.
It was pretty horrendous but not really the classic symptoms.

@Flamingolingo

Those of you who tested for atypical symptoms: how did you manage it? I have a splitting headache and have felt ‘off’ for a day or so - but can’t book a test. Did you just lie about symptoms? Zoe hasn’t suggested a test either!
My borough is mass testing, anyone, symptoms or not can get a test.
Iamsodonewith2020 · 30/12/2020 12:08

Oh god yes, the sinusitis pain is horrendous. Started on day 5 for me just as I lost my sense of smell

JorisBonson · 30/12/2020 12:37

DH and I both tested. Predictably, I'm feeling a little brighter this afternoon 🙄 (the fatigue is not letting up at all tho).

Just to update: Zoe sent me a request to test so now we wait ... I mostly just have a headache.

JorisBonson · 31/12/2020 14:27

I'm waiting too @Flamingolingo - really hoping it's today

OP posts:
JorisBonson · 31/12/2020 14:28

I feel a little more awake today and a little less sick, although I have a tickly cough and a little headache now.

Porcupineintherough · 31/12/2020 14:50

Day 12, feeling just about fine and just realised my sense if smell has nearly gone again???

lockdownromance · 31/12/2020 15:00

I got bad sinusitis with bad teeth ache. Slight throat ache and really snotty and slight temperature for days. I haven't had a test because none of the main ones. Dh had light cold before me so I have assumed I have the same cold. Dc have been fine.

Itstheprinciple · 31/12/2020 16:33

Headache, back ache, leg ache, arm ache, even thumb ache at one point. I didn't lose my sense of taste or smell but I got a really weird aftertaste when I'd eaten anything. Loss of appetite. Since I've 'recovered' I've been left with vertigo.

SpnBaby1967 · 31/12/2020 16:40

Just felt off, knackered and like I had the start of a head cold. Temp came 3 days later but not particularly high (37.7) which is when I tested

Day 11 now and feel fine. All I really had was a wicked sore throat, inability to stay awake, a couple of bouts of the runs around day 6.

Probably only felt really crappy for a couple of days, was still wfh and actually I quite enjoyed all the extra sleep given my usual insomniac nature

JorisBonson · 31/12/2020 18:19

Tried to have a couple of drinks to celebrate the new year, both of which tasted bitter and have made me feel shitty. Throat has started to hurt now and I feel hot.

WHAT IS GOING ON.

OP posts:
nixpix · 31/12/2020 19:22

Had a positive result at the start of November Head cold symptoms to start with. Sinusitis and conjunctivitis followed by awful hip pains. After about 5-6 days, my voice went and had bad fatigue. Developed pins and needles in my hands. Temperature went up slightly, but not feverish, cough was more occasional throat clearing and didn't lose sense of smell/taste till day 8. Took a while to feel better, as fatigue was much worse in the second/ third week. Cough got worse at end of second week and still here now along with tingling hands.

colouringindoors · 31/12/2020 19:25

Unbelievably bad headache - one of the worst I've ever had.

Amberheartkitty · 31/12/2020 19:30

Burning sensation in nose, could smell things burning that wasn’t there and headache. No other symptoms at all. Felt tired but I’m always tired.
