Queen's speech

Did anyone else think the Queen was taking a subtle swipe at the government when she said life must go on?

She mentioned the Commonwealth, as she always does, and it's a reminder that Britain's experience of the pandemic is not the only one.

Her speech was so on the ball. It was considerate and caring. She is so dignified and yet normal.

I didnt really imagine her to be the hugging type. Or for her to be really aware of the "little people" when she has so many staff to wait on her. But it really was touching.

Surely she has had the vaccine now. Please I hope she has.

Just watched it, she did look tired didn't she?

The Christmas Broadcast was top of the viewing figures by about 3 million

Possibly not till Oxford/AZ is rolled out because they can’t do home visits with Pfizer due to the fridge issues and it would disrupt a vaccine centre to have her arrive and potentially slow down their super efficient vaccine giving machine. I am sure she and her dh will be high on the list thanks to their age alone though.

She was brilliant - brought a tear to my eye looking back on some of the snippets they included from across the yea.r.

I'm no royalist either but I liked her speech. I thought she looked a bit down and sad.
