I've had my invite today and so have lots of my colleagues. NHS ward staff. My firat appointment is 17th December.

Thought it might be interesting to try to track the mexican wave of vaccination as it passes through the priority groups.

My BF had it in one of the 50 hub hospitals. She is frontline but they were prioritising vulnerable staff first. She happened to walk past when they were quiet and they offered it to her. She is really impressed with the hub( Greater Manc)

DM had hers today at a GP hub.
It is amazingly well organised but logistics are tricky. At the moment the care home provision is too complicated with small amounts of vaccine having to get to lots of different homes within the critical window , patients need to be capable of consent as well. There are too few vaccines to risk wasting any so the first batch are being given to the over 80s . Each surgery has been allocated a proportion of available vaccine. A list has been made of the over 80s and they are being rung from the surgery in alphabetical order. They are given an appointment for their first vaccine and follow up shot in three weeks time. We are based in a town and the hub is central although a much larger venue will be needed in the new year when the numbers go up. To a pp wondering, yes , there is a backup list of surgery staff who if they get the call because someone hasn't turned up have to drop everything and dash up so that the dose isn't wasted.
