I've had my invite today and so have lots of my colleagues. NHS ward staff. My firat appointment is 17th December.

Thought it might be interesting to try to track the mexican wave of vaccination as it passes through the priority groups.

@Mynxie

My mum,90 and living at home has hers booked for next week with the 2nd appointment already made for early Jan
That's brilliant. Can't wait until I am in this situation with my own parents. They are late 70s so a little wait yet.
MrsMiaWallis · 12/12/2020 11:05

I’m really surprised at some of these. My parents are late 80s with health concerns and they don’t expect to hear anything for a while. They are in their own home. I’m alarmed if it’s being organised by text, as my parents don’t have mobile phones

Nor do mine. They had letters.

Nursing home nurse here. Not a single member of any care home staff in our local authority has been invited or had the vaccine yet. We were told on Monday we’d be vaccinated this week but it didn’t happen.

BIL, cleaner on non Covid wards has had his.

I know several fit healthy people in their 50s who’ve been invited to have theirs in January.

NannyNelly · 12/12/2020 13:57

No news yet for my mum (95, severely sight-impaired but no major health problems; NW London and I don’t think the local hospital trust is on the list). She’s still complaining about her flu jab though so it’s probably for the best!

Primulachristmas · 12/12/2020 14:31

My mum was phoned with her appointment

middleager · 12/12/2020 15:05

Good news - Birmingham now has the vaccine and FIL in 80s has been offered it. Though MIL in 70s (and my own parents) will hopefully be in the next batch.

I know FIL will already be looking at holiday brochures...

Flowersandtea · 12/12/2020 17:11

Parents in 80’s both have appointments booked for next week they’re down South and I’m delighted for them, but hoping that NHS staff and other essential workers get theirs soon too.

Scarby9 · 12/12/2020 17:16

A friend's father was contacted yesterday. He is 90 but with some signs of dementia but otherwise no particular health problems. Another friend, also 90 but with COPD and told to shield, who is at the same surgery, has not been contacted yet.

SockQueen · 12/12/2020 17:26

Got my invitation yesterday (hospital doctor) but no appointments available till late January so I'm booked for then.

Carriemac · 13/12/2020 12:57

Had mine this morning ! NHS worked , over 50

bodgeitandscarper · 13/12/2020 13:28

DF getting his next week and booster Jan 5th, contacted by landline in the NE.

ineedaholidaynow · 13/12/2020 13:31

DM, over 80 lives in her own home, has some underlying health conditions. Received a phone call from GP surgery. know a number of there people's parents who have also received appointments.

Fedup21 · 13/12/2020 13:31

My friend who is a radiographer is having it next week.

Ieatmarmite · 13/12/2020 13:34

Mother (86) in Birmingham has an appointment for Tuesday. She was phoned by her GP and asked if she wanted to go on list for next week.

SadSecretSanta · 13/12/2020 13:40

My mum, living in S London, has got her first jab tomorrow. She’s 81 with health conditions. Hopefully we’ll be able to see her soon - we haven’t seen her for nearly a year.

teta · 13/12/2020 13:45

Parents in Greater Manchester are booked in on Thursday.

nitgel · 13/12/2020 13:46

My dad 91 has heard nothing. Nothing heard from mil who is 92 and in a care home. Seems disorganised

nocoolnamesleft · 13/12/2020 13:48

Had my first jab already. Clinically vulnerable frontline NHS.

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 14/12/2020 09:43

Mil has an appointment for Wednesday. She’s 85 and a total gym bunny- she normally goes 3 times a week and it’s been hugely beneficial for her mental and physical health, so the fact she will be able to do so with a much lowered risk is beyond wonderful.

I had my first dose on Saturday. I’m a community HCP who regularly sees patients in care homes.

ProudAuntie76 · 14/12/2020 11:08

Contacted my local authority to ask why our nursing home staff have been overlooked and asked for a link to book to get vaccinated at the hospital hub as was promised a week ago. The lead of the roll out admitted no health and social care staff have been vaccinated in our area yet and they don’t know how to launch the booking system for care staff Sad.

Pechanga · 14/12/2020 11:23

Elderly relatives in their 80's yet to be contacted, one with health issues that has to shield. GP surgery informed them not to expect to get it until the new year.

A Facebook friend, nurse at a GP practice had hers last week.

Flowersandtea · 15/12/2020 18:29

@Defenbaker
