Just out of curiosity.

Although rescheduled, this year we have missed seeing the killers and the weeknd.

What concert have you missed which should have been scheduled for this year?

OP posts:

Suede. Also Alexei Sayle.

HairyFloppins · 29/11/2020 11:13

ApolloandDaphne · 29/11/2020 11:16

Billy Joel at Maddison Square Garden. Gutted that we didn't get to NY for this and we also missed seeing Hamilton on Broadway.

Fiddlersgreen · 29/11/2020 11:17

Stereophonics with Paul Weller
Sam Fender

Sea Girls

Loads if you include theatre shows:

Life of Christ
3 end of term performances from dc's drama groups
Local youth theatre summer performance
Six
DC's orchestra (which was also due to tour Europe in the summer which was cancelled)
Mary Poppins
The play that went wrong
Last night of the Proms tribute
Organ recitals

These were just what we had booked. We'd probably have booked further ones too, certainly for Kids' week.

LawnFever · 29/11/2020 11:24

Glastonbury (Taylor Swift, they hadn’t announced much more)
Blue dot (Bjork, Groove Armada)
Suede
Skunk Anansie

I think something else too but I can’t remember!

I live in Newcastle and was lucky enough to go to an outdoor socially distanced concert in Sept( Ronan Keating) a local park did a series of them over 3 weeks, pop, rock and musicals. You booked tickets in a bubble and each little bubble was cordened off with metal fencing. There was a beer hut and hot food stalls , but you had to wear a mask, follow the one way system and stand on the lines in the queue to distance. It was brilliant, every night sold out and everyone enjoyed them, even when it rained. It could well be the way forward for concerts.

MrsWarleggan · 29/11/2020 11:35

Not a concert but was supposed to see Whoopi Goldberg in Sister Act in the West End 🙄

Feenie · 29/11/2020 11:36

Suede, Tim Burgess, The Mission (both of whom have now rescheduled on the same Saturday Sad), Nick Cave, Wendy James, Stewart Lee and Derren Brown.

Figgygal · 29/11/2020 11:37

The killers and Keane

But also Les miserables and everyone’s talking about Jamie at theatre

Was going to take ds to see Mcfly but didn’t even book it

DeathMetalMum · 29/11/2020 11:37

A day to remember, we had been waiting a few years for them to tour over here.

Dp also missed a rammstein gig.

We currently have a gig booked in March for Creeper I have everything crossed it will go ahead but I'm not 100% it will.

tabulahrasa · 29/11/2020 11:37

I’ve missed the same rave twice, lol... (they postponed it)

I had tickets for Taylor Swift, Niall Horan and the album launch of Tidelines... the album has been out for 7 months now Hmm

Roominmyhouse · 29/11/2020 11:38

Faith no more
Pearl Jam & Pixies
Idlewild

All rescheduled for next year. Not convinced they’ll happen though sadly.

Jesus I hope not. Sounds excellent under the current circumstances but I'm hoping next summer bubbles and one way systems would be a thing of the past!
JoBrodie · 29/11/2020 11:49

"Live to picture" film concerts where an orchestra performs the film's score as the film is screened, usually at the Royal Albert Hall but they're being done all over the place now.

I think Pavement reformed but weren't doing any UK shows, otherwise I'd go to that too.

Capital summertime ball and jingle bell ball. Dd13 choice not mine !

FrustratoPotato · 29/11/2020 12:10

I missed The 1975 in Glasgow. They still played but it was about 1 week before the first lockdown and I was too paranoid to get the train and stand in a crowd that big. Gutted though because it was the first time in 10 years I liked a band enough to buy tickets.
